I have a problem with my Single Player World. I installed Single Player Commands and WorldEdit, but somethimes //wand won't give me the wand, and if I do get it, it won't select anything. And I do manage to select something, and use anything similar to //set, it'll fill like the whole world up with blocks. How do I fix it? :C
you can try reloading the world. it always works for me.
Hey, just started using this. I typed in "/fill dirt 5" so i could fill in a hole. I filled it, but now how do i get rid of this tool? I want to be able to right click again without creating 5 blocks of dirt!!
Is there a way to modify the super pickaxe range distance?? (I see one for the wand tool)
The range is kind of infinite now (the range is what you see). That's quite excellent, cos' I had in the past the trouble clicking in the void without noticing it. That made one of my selection (-1.0,-1.0,-1.0) and the other far far far away from there, Then, I could set that selection with any block (ex: //set 1 for stone)... and bang! game crashed, cos' I changed like a million blocks with stone and ouch, my game is saved like that!!!
* So actually, what I want is a reset clic for the super pickaxe (or the selection wand tool). When you are removing some gravel for exemple; if you clic with the super pickaxe the bottom block of gravel and if there is some other gravel blocks above, they will obviously fall. Then, if you want to destroy one of those blocks that were falling, your pickaxe is "unpowered". I used to click beside in the void to reset it and then destroy the block with one clic due to the super pickaxe ability back on. (I'm using spc3.2 (Worldedit 5.4) with MC1.2.3)
So, that's it. Is there a reset function for these two tools??
I have a suggestion for a couple things to add to World Edit.
A "reflect" command which makes a copy of everything in a region in the direction the player is pointing at exactly like the "stack" command does, except everything's in reverse (including things like pumpkins and torches, if possible). This means only one side of symmetrical creations would have to be built.
A "rotate" command that takes any square region and rotates it in the direction and degree specified by the player (//rotate [90/180] [ccw/cw]). This only works with square regions.
A "stretch" (for lack of a better name, any ideas?) command which take something and makes it X times bigger in 1, 2, or 3 directions by replacing each block with several of the same type. For example, with /stretch 2 2 up east,
This
Becomes this
EDIT: The spaces messed up, but it still works.
EDIT2: Fixed.
Not sure if anyone wants to see this, but this is my first experience with copying a structure from on map to my new Jungle 1.2.4 map.
Interesting video. I wonder what is the biggest structure that can be copied and pasted that way? (you did with a 200000+ blocks area with success). ** Question: Why you did that to another world? (copying and pasting it elsewhere in the same world wouldn't satisfied your goal?) Is it because your previous world was an old one, generated from a previous version of MC and in that case, you didn't have the possibilities of generating current ores and terrains. So instead, you did it in your new world (jungle) that is generated from a current version of MC with all the current ressources offered with the current version of MC. Is that the reason?
Cause that's probably the problem i'm having with my map. I'm building in it since December 2010 (Beta 1.0) and I don't have all the new ores and terrains generated in the radius area already generated. My world is so deep in the sense of creation that I continued that way, upgrading the game everytime. Of course, I built stuff with all the ressources offered by the current MC, using spc commands; but in the matter of generating terrains, I'm kinda limited. So your experience may be a possibility for me to transfer my builds to a new generated world (but it would be a very arduous task to complete... I probably have a hundred+ areas as big as the one you did!! Not sure i'm gonna do it; I let you know if I do. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Another question since you experienced the function. When copying areas like you did and saving it, it saves it to a schematics folder to your server map. Do you know if it means that the save/load function of the "clipboard" is only possible on a server map? Maybe I want to try your experience, but my world is a singleplayer map! Do you think it would be possible? If you know about it, please reply.

Copying/pasting and saving areas between single player worlds, I use the functions a lot. It often messes up things like pistons and redstone, but for the most part there should be no problem.
Sort of related: Sk89q, is there any way you could have World Edit automatically pause between doing parts of a large operation? I've noticed that when too many blocks are affected, I get a "Java out of memory" error, but I am still able to do it by breaking it up into small parts and waiting for the last one to finish before starting the next. It would be really helpful in doing a lot of things, especially things that are hard to break up manually like pasting. Perhaps you could make it so WE has both a total limit and a limit for each part of an operation.

WE works great in Multi Player but is acting so weird in Single. It takes multiple clicks to set a position with the wand and it's almost like I have to click other blocks to remind the wand what it's supposed to do. //pos1/2 selects from bedrock to sky instead of your cords and selecting in general is glitchy beyond belief. It will choose random chunks of the things I'm stacking instead of the whole. Also when left clicking with the wand it will actually destroy the block and will not pop back instantly, so does putting the block back mess with the schematic?

What's wrong with them?
