KodaichiZero is studying to be an evil genius or something and doesn't have time to keep up with crotch and his constant obfuscation of new versions of Minecraft, but the great unwashed demand that Battle Towers and Chicken Gliding be updated, so here they are - All thanks go to KodiachiZero for bringing everyone these great mods! Minecraft isn't as fun without them!
I hope you're enjoying your newly obtained God status, sir. I was definitely not expecting anyone to update my stuff. I mean, the chicken gliding, sure, I'm sure a few modders could do that from scratch, but the whole battle towers update? Man! I had almost ogtten it done myself, and even released a few private tests, but the remaining bugs and my newly slow-as-hell computer kept me from publicly releasing it. Well, don't worry about doing such a thing in the future, especially not Charlotte. Stay away from that 600-line-of-code mess.
I cannot find any towers, I am currently on my 7 or 8 map and still nothing..
Any ideas?

Any way to make the towers about 10-20x as rare, or even to have the settings available for us to use? Because I get 3 towers in view at a time constantly, which is kind of ridiculous, it should be once in a while, once in a long while. It would even be preferable if they were so rare that finding one would actually be an achievement.
Lol, this always happens. People on opposite ends of the spectrum arguing about tower rarity. If you can't find any, then you either installed it wrong or aren't trying hard enough, or you are looking in the wrong places. If they're too common, even with the rarity patch, then just ignore every X amount of towers you come across. Or only go for the hard ones, ignore all the rest, I don't know. It's hard to hide something as gigantic as this, unlike the dungeons, which are actually extemely common, just hard to locate since they are buried.
I'm detecting moderate traces of off topic in this thread
Better run before Juze gets here and starts banning people and throwing color coded moderator edits on everyone like a six year old girl with colored sharpies.
Is there a Battle Tower mod compatible with Beta 1.2_01?
any mod compatible with 1.2 is compatible with 1.2_01, 1.2_02 unless the specifics of the bug fixes break the mod, only in new versions (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, etc) will all mods be broken, the '_01, _02, etc' are just bug fixes, basically, it is just patches, nothing mod broken in general. Someone else basically said this exact same ting, but i forgot, probably Seronis....

Sorry for spelling your name wrong, Kodaichi! These mods are genius, so I thought it a necessity to bring these back to the great unwashed masses of Minecraft. You should hire interns to update your old mods when crotch reobfuscates minecraft so that you can concentrate on bringing new ideas into our worlds.
Thanks for developing these essential mods, Kodaichi!!

Internship of your mods would be amazing stuff Kodai; it makes me wish I knew code. Your work is very valued; you have some really neat concepts, and it's a shame to lose them to update-death. Hopefully when the API finally gets added, all you modders won't have to suffer through 500 revisions, and players can have the collection they like the most without having to maintain 11 copies of the game. I still really miss baby spiders. ;____;

Every time I come to these forums, I think more and more that I'm the only person who plays Minecraft normally.

Sorry to burst your bubble, and i with it wasn't true, but getting an api that will work for single player mods is far down the road. first, the api for multiplayer has to be developed and implemented and then single player is going to be converted to running as a local server. after that - if lucky - single player mods won't be so vulnerable to updates. perhaps. but that still implies that crotch continues to obfuscate his code, laying waste to code regardless of the presence of an api.
there would be far less need for an api today if crotch did not obfuscate.
I have a small suggestion for the battle tower mod if you don't mind. Can you please program the mod in a way that if you kill the golem boss the mob spawners will dissapear or turn to stone or something? I mean it is really annoying fighting your way through to the top killing mobs in your way but there's no time to destroy the mob spawners since they take a very long time to destroy unless u got TNT or something but that may destroy a part of the tower you don't want. So please do that.

Oh yeah, I'm under no illusions that the API will be done by mid-February or anything; I know how the guy works. "Finally" in this case means "possibly sometime in a year". I imagine the mod community will come up with something workable before Mojang and company. I'm mostly concerned about losing the work done by such intrepid coders as yourself to the passage of time; it really does add a lot to my game experience. Failing a workable API, my next resort is to give you guys lots of encouragement to keep at it. It's too bad the code is locked down so hard. It's not like people can't get at it at all, but it makes it tough on the good modders, and removes an entire tier of lesser modders (like myself) who can get in and tinker with parameters when they're clearly defined. It's a shame.

If Notch were smart, he would leverage the work done by the real coders and incorporate tools like modloader, audiomod, spawnlist, GUIapi and mcp. Without those, minecraft would be a fraction of what it is today. Well, I am forever grateful that those guys made the tools and they continue to play an active part in the Minecraft modding community.
Any chance you could edit the rarity patch to make them more common? Would make a lot of people very, very happy.

Every moment, a thousand worlds are born; every moment a thousand worlds die. For what is a dream but a world, at once brief and eternal, alien and familiar to the mind?
