Incase nobody else said it I beleive this mod would be greatly appreciated if it was expanded to work with all blocks since glass dosn't have any special attributes anyway.
I thought that but the thing is nobody is gonna have translucent wood and dirt anyways so it isn't really worth it
Is there any block specifically that would actually benefit from it. I was thinking redstone wires but thats about it
One thing I'd like to point out that while the glass is nice, this like most of the mods before it has a huge problem that makes a pretty bad side effect, with this you cannot see clouds through glass.
however I have tested extensively and what it is, the minecraft engine can not blend two translucent textures, solution? make the clouds like the original glass is, make it so the clouds are 0% or 100% the same way the glass was this will most likely fix the translucent glass. And will actually have a good effect on the clouds as they will now obstruct the stars and sun and moon like they should.... not sure why notch did this ass backwards
Please do this... fix this long neglected issue....
It is the deal breaker for this mod, not seeing my beautiful clouds through the glass sucks.
I've tried changing the alpha value to "all or nothing" in the Png but it seems like it's minecraft code that defines the opacity of the clouds

i will try but im not sure wat class file the clouds are ill hve to look.
and its probably not that easy
i just cecked then yer its wierd
Thanks for the quick reply yah if you can somehow modify the clouds to be non transparent that would be a cool mod in itself anyway, the side effect would be it most likely fixing your glass block :smile.gif: I have adjusted the transparency of the "cloud.png" up and down and even with it fully white, it shows non translucent in the png file it is still translucent in game so somewhere notch has it telling to render the clouds with 50% opacity You are even able to apply colors to the clouds but nothing I can do will make them solid.
There is a mod that messes with sky color, even changes cloud color it uses DN.class H.class and II.class just to point you in the right direction :smile.gif:
That glass mod is actually a great idea since now you dont have to have borders on the glass to make it visible (ie. noticeable as glass), meaning big windows look better without the borders showing. I'm definitely using this with my texturepack since i can't really make the glass look good :biggrin.gif:

ill make a version that gives ur glass back to you and one without
ill do it soon.
EDIT: the download is in the op
OMG! I absolutely love that the glass now has a proper frame, so that when I look into the glass I can see the outside frame as well as the inside frame.
It's a little odd at first from some angles, but for the most part it's a great enhancement to the glass blocks.
Now I've just got to figure out how the opacity works when I edit the terrain.png file.
Thanks very much for this.
Example of light blue tint to the windows:
And untinted window (yeah I wanted the tint to be very slight only)
I do seem to lose the back frame though after I tint the windows, not sure what I'm doing to the terrain.png file that causes that but I'll look into it unless that's the way it's supposed to work.
When viewing through glass and there is water on the other side, you can't see the water, it disappears.
I have a trap that uses glass, and when I look through it, there is no water, same thing when I look out the front window of my house at the pond right in front, the pond water is completely gone. But if I step outside, the water is back, so it's only when I view the water through glass.
I do have crystal clear water mod installed if that helps any, or maybe everybody is experiencing the invisible water issue with this mod?
I have to wonder if this is why Notch didn't include translucency in glass for the game. Do you think you can fix this issue?
The first one is allowing glass to have have a tint of color without changing the alpha levels to 100%
like so
It is for only the default class, or are there now more new items glass + dye = stained glass? i want more new items to be honest, i always wanted colored glass.... but not only 1 color :/

This has been a issue with all the past glass mods as well, you also cannot see clouds through them, however the water through the glass issue got fixed by the last guy making this kinda mod, so it is possible to fix he stopped working on the mod though becuase the cloud thing.
I also have my theory that it was because the clouds no matter you do to them are still translucent, I have a guy that is working on a solid cloud mod, I tested this with the glass mod, and still no clouds, but if you can figure out what the other guy did to fix the water through glass, combined with the solid clouds it might fix it all.
and if you guys can do that, it would be friggin awesome I've wanted this glass mod to work for soooo long, but I just can't deal with not seeing clouds through them hope this helps

do you remember wat the mod was called?
that would help alot
im currently working on another mod but i will try to c wat i can do
For the problems with being unable to see water through the tinted glass, it sounds like there's code that keeps stuff with an alpha value other than either the maximum or minimum from being drawn when seen through anything else that also has an alpha value other than max or min. For example, you can't see other ice blocks through one ice block, and, in this case, you can't see water through tinted glass blocks.
It's a common thing having to do with drawing order and alpha handling. I had to deal with it in different ways back when I worked with GameMaker and Garry's Mod.
I don't know how to fix it, I'm just providing what is likely the cause... <_<
yer lol i was meant to change the op
i googled yesterday lol

If you can add that to your class file then we'd have a great winner here. (glass unleashed and the other one is just called glass mod)

Anyways these mods look amazing..
Do we dye the glass to change the color?
If so, that just makes the tinted glass 100x better then what I had thought it would be.
