so what am i doing wrong? some people are getting it to work and some people are ending up high up on mountains with terrain totally different from what they intended.
So last night our server admin cut and pasted a piece of one of our members' custom BTM worlds into our regular vanilla maps. It's the most fun we've had in ages and ages (and I died more times than I can count, falling off ledges and ladders into the abyss). It's one of those terrains where everything's up in the air in blobs and there's no sea at all.
A bit of bad news now. (relatively speaking: some people might find this good news) When you cut and paste chunks of any world into any other world, it appears that the new chunks inherit the same biome settings as the original chunks they're replacing. So if you cut an area from a winter map and stick it over a seasonal forest area, it will inherit the weather, grass colour, etc. of the seasonal forest area it replaces.
I suppose this is bad news if you're trying to increase a particular type of biome by pasting over a less desirable one. It will still have the old type. So don't be surprised to see snow in the desert you just made, or rain on the massive ice kingdom you pasted in.
Yet another glimpse into how biomes are coded in worlds.
that is epic, he posted the settings on the video :smile.gif:

I'm on the brink of a new release here, I hope to have it in the next few hours. Stand by, and don't worry I haven't given up yet. :wink.gif:
BTW, when this release comes I'll be doing a massive update to the versioning system to make it less confusing, and putting a new wiki up with better instructions. The source will also be updated to the latest version on the source tree, and the OP post will include a new "coders" request.
I don't plan on dropping this entirely. We got a new caregiver for my father so I want to code on this more often now that some of that responsiblity is lifted. The BOB system needs a lot of work and once this stable update comes out that'll be the first goal. Also, this new build has been completely rewritten to use a streamlined build structure. It's being thougherly tested or I'd release it now. It basically makes new releases like 90% easier.
No to IndustrialCraft, though IndustrialCraft integration is coming soon.
It will work with 1.5_01 by the end of the day, I am working on it now.
The current 1.3 version can be found on the google code site in the OP post.
What mod they use to generate threes like this ->
That is the old tree system by Bucyruss, the original creator of this mod. It's broken but I'm making a new tree plugin system that will allow us to build custom trees (and ruins buildings whatever) again.

Yes, I know.
But when I made one world with this settings, the world didn't look like the wolrd of the video. :s.
Terrain generation is RANDOM. Unless you have the same exact seed that was used to create the workd in the video, you'll never get the same world. This mod just lets you adjust how the randomness is applied. :smile.gif:

New thread. I put in a request to close this one.
