Hey! 1st Post... Damn. Well anyway, i have installed both Optimine and McRegion. I noticed a HUGE drop in performance and FPS, which seems odd. The Memory Usage in Minecraft increases, while the FPS decreases, until i logout in frustration. If possible, can someone help me with a solution, or a way to revert minecraft back to its original state? (I was stupid enough to neglect creating a Backup because of all of the wonderful feedback the mod was receiving...)
optimine and mcregion seem to clash with each other.
Shame nobody seems to know what's wrong with the game for me.

No they dont clash with eachother. They were made by the same guy to run with eachother.
1. Unrar/unzip Optimine class files
2. Drag drop Optimine files into Minecraft.jar (which you've opened with an archive program)
3. Delete META INF folder
4. Open MrMods with archive program
5. Drag and drop MrMPatcher.jar and the MODS folder into the base /.minecraft/ folder (not the /bin/ folder!)
6. Run the MrMPatcher.jar in the base /.minecraft/ folder
7. Done
If you have a texture pack use your usual install process for that between steps 3 and 4. If you have more mods than just these two and a texture pack you will have to pay attention to installation order or keep an eye out for mod conflicts.
So, just making sure. This isn't compatible with better light?
Last time I checked, it was compatible, but required this mod to be installed before applying Better Light.
Oh I tried reinstalling better light after installing optimine and that gave me an error. I thought installing optimine first and then better light, but I thought that would just make optimine not work in some way. It seems to work though
makes the whole UI including the screen that pops up when you press escape disappear.
At least your screen keeps rendering.
Mine stops rendering frames abruptly.
I can't say it has crashed because the game still accepts keyboard inputs and the sound still works.
I have posted my dxdiag on this thread before.
Does anyone know what is wrong with my game?

This is my very first post and I am sorry that it has to be a bug report but, I seem to be having the same problem as that fellow a few posts above me. The game works fine, and this mod has really helped. Before it was unplayable due to FPS lag. Anyway, the problem arises from the fact that the neither the inventory screen, nor the pause screen are visible. When I try to access either, the mouse cursor will show up on the screen, but the menu/inventory will not. The game doesn't freeze or anything; if I press "I" or "Esc" again, the game will resume without a hitch. It's just that I can't see either of the aforementioned screens. I also cannot see the "current items" bar that is situated at the bottom of the screen. If anyone can provide me with any reasonable suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for any help.
This makes minecraft actually playable on my laptop. I would sincerely recommend it. Went from an unplayable 3 fps online to a semi decent 28fps. Still nothing like the 60fps (my monitor is set at Hz so any more wouldn't even register) or so on my desktop but makes the game playable on the go.
hi there!
i just installed this mod together with McRegion v5, i'm currently playing beta 1.2_01, and it actually made minecraft enjoyable on my old thinkpad! problem is, that Optimine (combined with other mods or alone, doesnt matter) makes the whole UI including the screen that pops up when you press escape disappear.
i really want to use this mod, as i have low framerates even on regular maps and currently play a map generated via the BiomesTerrain mod (beta-compatible version, i also deactivated that one and tried a normal map, same error)
if it were some minor glitches or even crashes i wouldn't mind, but seeing the stunning landscapes on higher fps than i ever had while the game is actually unplayable thanks to the lacking interface makes me want to cry :/ does anyone have the same issues or know a fix? (i considered using texture packs, for example the painterly pack, as that one replaces the UI too but it won't work either...)
or, alternatively, another mod i can use to boost my framerate.
First of all, it is unnecessary to unpack that archive, and you can simply insert mod's files into it
I have been having issues doing exactly this.
I am not using a Macintosh, but using 7zip, I cannot figure out how to replace the class files in the .jar with this mod's class files. there is no paste option within 7zip. I even tried editing the files with notepad and copying the contents of the mod files, but that just led to a black screen.
What method is everyone using to edit the contents of a .jar file?
Wow, this works amazingly well!!! Notch should officially implement this into the game.
He did, technically. He included fastrender, which this mod is the successor of.
So, FastRender is already included in the current version of Minecraft, or it will be added in the future? If so, do you still recommend installing this mod? It sounds really great, and since they have implemented McRegion too, the author of both mods seems to be doing an awesome job.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... Now I can actually play on my work and home laptop without becoming frustrated at the stutters. This worked better than I had hoped it would. Thank you again... :-)

It's a darned 4chan meme, Kazeto.
