I just tried it, but unfortunately didn't notice any improvements - my FPS stays around 20-30 in Far mode. I was using it with BetterLight (couldn't seem to get rid of the triangles) and Wild Grass.
I installed this along with MCregion and HOLY ****. Do you know how hard it was to get jizz stains off my laptop monitor? And yes, you heard right, laptop monitor. This thing ****ing gives me the ability to play smoothly on my laptop where I previously could not do ****. The minute this mod become compatible with BetterLight, my life will be completed.
There were graphical issues with BL/BG as the top block would always have a tint. Haven't tested with snow mod (since I wasn't in a snow area, I didn't notice its effects)
But as far as results... it's first run on my world it was on avg 10 FPS less than usual. This was especially true when using in darkness and the handheld torch mod. (that in itself is a huge hog)
On my second run, i started noticing my FPS jumping to 40-50 fps. With few and short (and even tolerable frame drops) it actual bottomed out at about 9 fps (which was amazing since it was still running "smoothly" just with 9 frames rather than jolting from 0 to 12 for about 4-5 seconds every or few seconds as the world generated.
The results were promising my second round! However due to graphical errors I refused to keep it.
I reverted back to my old .jar and checked fps on first few rounds showed that Optimine seemed to allow game to load and stabilize faster! But then fps boosted to around 60-70 frames at peaks (where as w/ Optimine was peaking around only 40-60 avg) But the game would spike far more often and less tolerable!
I am running a lot of mods and fps may be inconsistent just due to how I was running computer and spreading ram at the time I was checking FPS... but those are some results after 2 or 3 runs w/ and w/o optimine.
Good job and wonderful work! Always love seeing MC play smoother.
Off topic: poster above, I love your avatar.
I make mod videos! Ask me and I'll make one for you!
Optimine doesn't touch nk.
Could you try Optimine without mj.class and tell me if there's still a drop in performance? What kind of CPU and GPU do you have?
Optimine does not overwrite nk.class. I forgot to update the instructions when I copied them from the McRegion thread.
Oh, ok I see now! Thanks.

it still doesnt work....
im using optimine, mcregions, mrmmod's betterlight and bettergrass, and zan's minimap
A+++++ would download again.
Mod edit: This is just inappropriate.
Tried Optimine alone, and same results. Tried it with McRegion, and it doesn't help much, but still helps I geuss
Could you merge Optimine with Snowmod?
There is kr.class incompatibility.
and the triangle light thing

It worked great for me.
EDIT: Ok scrap that. I just found out that my meta-inf is already gone lol
