I use Ubuntu and installed AdventureCraft (without login) using the terminal to make it work.
I then proceeded to use Wine to run the .exe file (that is what we are supposed to do, right?), however it did not detect my java and said I needed Java 1.5.0. I already have Java of course, or I wouldn't be able to play Minecraft! I guess Wine doesn't recognize my java program?
Any help?
EDIT: STUPID! Your supposed to press "Start" in the jar. Anyway, when I press Start nothing happens. >:?
EDIT: wait
I'm supposed to launch the EXE and launches the jar???

I am so confused.
I don't really know about running AdventureCraft on Ubuntu but yes you do run AdventureCraft with the .exe
I have only one problem with this, it doesnt work for me! When I try to open any of the files or the application itself, it says this: Could not find the main class: ACLauncher. Program will now exit. Please help. (Other than that, I know AC is a awesome mod)
i don't know, but you're lucky, the .jar wont even OPEN fir me, and when i try to open the .exe wine says i need JRE 1.5.0, and i have 1.6.something... how did you get it to open?... well, it might help to download the latest version
I found this a bit pages back. This is my problem as well, I have 1.6!

Would it be possible to make a script to force the hookshot to work while not on the ground or make a new item that does the job?
I haven't really worked on a map in so long... I get full up with ideas for maps until I realize that they would take a dozen scripts to work and I don't even start because oh god how did this get here I am not good with computer. I have far too little concentration to learn javascript or whatever your mystery magic language is.
Just a question... What java version do I need? Because I keep on getting "A Java Exception has occurred" And I kept on reinstalling Adventurecraft + Java and I don't know what else I can do. I have Java 7 btw.
Edit: Nvm I got it working. Now just going to clean out my minecratf.jar file just to play it.
can someone please tell me how to spawn items! i can't find a tutorial anywhere! :sad.gif:
I've tried using a mob spawner, holding the item i want in my hand, and selecting "drop item/block". The item that i want to spawn then shows up on the gui, but the only thing that comes out of the spawner is a pig :sad.gif:

After clicking drop/item block, you have to select "Item" from the list! It won't spawn the item unless you click the Item button. The default spawn entity is a pig, which is why it keeps spawning pigs! Hope this helps!

Any news on the update progress? I've been waiting until it hits 1.0.0 to give it another try, but that looks like it will take a while.
I'm assuming by the lack of updates for the past two months that Cryect has been working on fixing it up instead, or maybe he's just in real life stuff. Either way, I'm hoping for 1.0.0 blocks, items, and stuff in Adventure maps and map-making.

Does.... does this answer your question? Cause... I think it pretty much explains it all.
Everyone else just has to double click the exe as far as I'm aware, forgive us if we can't conjure up vast bounties of knowledge and figure out how to make an exe file run on your computer when very few people have encountered the problem.
Everyone else uses Windows. Do you see the difference here.
Since other people HAVE encountered this problem, I hope someone has figured out how to fix it. Most of the time people that post this problem jsut get ignored.
