I love this mod and makes my Minecraft look amazing, but may I suggest a more casual change in the depth of field? Whenever I look at something close and then far away (like I'm walking up stairs and then get to the top) I can see a very choppy change in the shading. It would be nice to have a fade effect for the shading. (I've tried the more realistic shader)
On the windows ATI issue, has anyone tried turning CCC Completely off/ set it to only application settings. Or to an even greater extreme, uninstalling CCC and only installing the drivers.
God that is exactly the type of bloom / hdr i want. (remember, hdr only adjusts the contrast and light level, bloom is a seperate effect "on top of" that dynamic adjustment).
Perfectly glowy for the lights, but not overdone.
I do really hope that one day, Minecraft will indeed update its engine to at least something resembling somewhat modern standards. The gameplay is already amazing, why does it have to exclude graphical or artistic amazement as well?
One does not cancel out the other, please Notch, heed our eyecandy needs. :biggrin.gif:
Personally, I wish notch would just cave and add BetterLight to the game. I think it makes the biggest difference of all the graphical mods, and doesn't affect performance too much (it could even be part of fancy graphics.)
Okay, I got everything working. But using this slows down Minecraft a whole lot for me…
Also, would it be possible to have just the world curving? And no other shader effects?
Yep. Mess around with the files in the /mods/shaders/files/shaders folder. Delete final.fsh, leaving only base.vsh and you'll get the curving with no other effects. Once you do this, run the installer again to update your Minecraft client.
I have an ATI card in my laptop, and I'm not opposed to letting a trusted person use Teamviewer to remote-control my laptop to debug some code on it.
Hmm . . . I might want to do this . . .
If you decide that you do want to, the easiest way to get in touch with me is Steam ( add gando346) or email ( forum pm me for that one ).
edit1: I also have Python, Microsoft Visual C++ 2010, and Perl installed on this computer already, just tell me what else I need before you start work on it.
edit2: eclipse is also on here.

I'm the 600th post. Congratulations on such a popular thread! I still encourage you to add AMD support, although I'm getting a new NVIDIA card so it won't affect me.
Patched according to directions, but nothing happened. No crashes or anything, just no effects. Here's my install log. I'm running OS X 10.5.8

Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed. I also recommend shelling out $29 for Snow Leopard but that shouldn't be the problem.
Yeah it was an update problem. Thanks for the help!
Woah, does this mod make your minecraft world CURVE?
Yes, if you use that shader (which is currently default). It won't really have any visible effect when you're running around doing your thing, but if you stand on a high ledge and look into the distance you'll see a curved horizon as if the world is spherical.
Okay, but how do I get my flat world back? There does not appear to be a flat world base.vsh any more. I like the curved concept but it makes me a bit seasick in practice.
*EDIT:
Alright I suppose I could edit the shader myself (the code seems simple enough), but that's work and also what about the others to afraid to poke about in the GLSL?

No, the problem is that the base.vsh in the install folder is the same as the curved world base.vsh. Reinstalling or even re-downloading the mod will not help. There is no base.vsh (as far as I can see) that has the old flat world model. Granted it's not actually that hard to edit the shader code (which I just did to make the effect subtle enough for my liking :3), but I think the flat option should be present for the sake of the timid/unskilled.

I'm aware. Just delete base.vsh from the install folder and reinstall using the script. There is no flat world base.vsh.
i sear to god, i cant get this to work, for the life of me. i read the readme, but i find it hard to understand.
i ran the installer, and copied the shaders i wanted into the shaders folder of the minecraft.jar. is that what i was supposed to do, or is there another step that im missing?
after i do those steps, i run minecraft, adit runs like it normally would. no changes at all...
im running this on my laptop, so its using intel graphcs drivers. could that be a problem as well?

Give me an internet, or Chuck Norris will kill you!!!
found the problem. it is in fact, my laptops intel drivers. i just tested the mod on my old computer, wich has an invidia card, and it works. rather slowly too, i might add, but thats probably just because its old.

I tested the mod without the CCC installed and Minecraft works just fine, but no visible effect.
