The mod doesn't work for 1.2 yet. It'll be updated as soon as the MCP team puts out a new release. In the future I hope to do the de-obfuscation work myself and push out updates faster, but right now I can't spare the time.
I tried this mod before the update and I really didn't like it. The blurring looked really bad for the most part, especially around edges, and it was just generally not applied in the correct spots. It's kinda hard to explain, but it would usually blurr the main area I was looking at just because there was like 1 block in the way which was closer towards me, so it focused more on that chunk or something like that.
Here's a screenshot I took without this mod and then just did a quick edit in Photoshop to replicate a depth of field vision. There's a clear difference between the area that you're looking at directly vs the one a few blocks further back and even more of a difference as it goes even further back. The area closes to you, which you're not looking at, is also blurred out, along with the sides of the entire image (just a tiny bit). I'm guessing if I were to have taken this screenshot with this mod, it would have focused on the center part with the tree along with maybe the tree on the left, some of the grass on the hill.
Still working on parallax mapping. I have some basics done, but there are several issues I need to work out before I release this. In the meantime I'm also experimenting with a vertex shader that gives the Minecraft world a slightly curved surface, so that instead of peering into the distance until the fog obscures your vision, there's actually a horizon. If it looks as cool as I think it will, I'll put up an update just for this.
ATI people, I'm back at school so I'll be making some trips to the labs soon to see if I can help you guys out. Hang in there!
Changing up that formula a little reaps some really weird results!
Soon: Wave world!
Inception? But seriously, I'm glad to see that more shaders are being developed. I held onto a clean copy of 1.1_02 just to be able to test shaders as they come out. That is, until the mod is updated. Keep up the great work daxnitro, azraeil, and anyone else working on shaders!
I was like O,..,O uhhhhhh....... -speachless-

What do you mean by cut off clouds though.
Well, your MOM makes your mom jokes that don't make sense.
Can't wait for the update! The modder pack needs to be updated as well!

<!-- l -->Yeah, yeah, I know. Too much curvature. It's easily adjustable and not quite finished yet.
Soon: Wave world!
I can't help test for ATI compatibility by the way, if you like...
Azraeil, except for the clouds, this is a really good effect, this reminds me Populous ! :smile.gif:

This + DOF + Betterlight = will make for an extremely cool Minecraft. :biggrin.gif:
Now, if only it worked for 1.2 and ATI. :|
( Note: I don't have an nVidia card so I had to send this to a friend to test it. But it works fine for him! )
Sure! Upload it somewhere and I'll put it in the main post.
