I am well aware ATI cards are the issue. I was, and i would say most that have posted they have ATI cards and are having issues are just letting the author know what cards and OS we are using.
P.S. Its called feedback, and it helps developers improve performance and functionality.
You can't apply multiple shaders at once, because each of the shaders is compiled into a program at runtime and integrated into your GPU's rendering pipeline. Mixing the effects will require at least a basic knowledge of the GLSL language, so that you can combine them into one program.
I see now where lahwran's settings api would come into play.

Anti Aliasing is coming. It shouldn't even be that hard to implement now. But hear me: It's coming.
You mean like this or this (or with the fancy DoF, this)? Am I the only one that thought of adding javaw to the program list in the NVIDIA control panel and forcing AA? Heck, I've been playing with AA on for at least a month and a half now.

Not the first but generally AA introduced unwanted artifacts, so most did not use it.
I've only had issues if the transparency AA was set too low. I bumped it up to 8x supersample and it was fine. No pink grids or anything. Just Minecraft with AA on. Only thing is that it kills the FPS with AA and this DoF mod. Hopefully other shaders will play better.
Following up from earlier post on the black screen of death I'm getting. I booted into OSX and gave the mod a try and it worked perfectly there so it's definitely not a hardware issue and I think it's unlikely an issue with the shader itself on ATI cards, at this point I guess I'd have to lean towards either the windows ATI OpenGL drivers or part of the Windows OS itself that's causing this.
Any way somebody with more shader experience load up the shaders in one of those shader editor programs (Render Monkey or something) and see if they have the same issue? I'm going to give it a try but last time I tried my hand at this stuff a few years ago I couldn't wrap my head around it.
If you're implying that ATi drivers don't work with GLSL, I think you're wrong. I don't have too much experience with 3D graphics, but I know the free game, Nexuiz, uses GLSL and I can run that flawlessly with 5770s on W7 with Catalyst 10.12. However, I have no ideas other than that.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I'm a decent Java programmer learning Python, and I'm skilled with server administration, WorldEdit, redstone circuitry, etc. Feel free to show me mod ideas, I'm thinking about starting to make mods, and I'd be happy to give insight as to how a mod could be implemented in Minecraft.
ATI cards may use a stricter GLSL syntax or something weird. If the black screen is a result of the shaders not being able to compile, you'll see that in the file generated by the steps I just put in the main post. I need a few people with the black screen problem to follow those steps and send me the output so I can check it out.
This thing is really neat. Wonder why it doesn't come built-in with vanilla Minecraft?
I'm running a GeForce 6800 GT 256 and I'm encountering problems running it on anything but the Far view distance setting. My machine is a bit older so I like to run Minecraft at Normal. Any idea on how to fix it OR is this bug fix included in the next version on the way?
What happens is that anything further than say 30 metres in front of you the view disappears and shows the white fog in place of whatever you're looking at. It's similar to vanilla Minecraft's Tiny view setting except without a gradual fog ramp up. It just cuts it right off into fog.

Thx.
This sounds like something that will probably get fixed in the next update (either tomorrow night or Monday). If not I'll get it figured out.

The only problem would be that I don't exactly have that kind of control with my graphics card. Playing games on a Mac does occasionally have its disadvantages.
I can confirm that this problem is NOT limited to Windows 7 x64. I installed Windows XP Pro x86 on a spare drive I had laying around to test, and it also gets the black screen.

Same. Nexiuz uses OpenGL 2.0 GLSL extensions and runs just great on ATI hardware.
What about my AMD card?

Stupid macfags.
Not cool bro. I don't use a mac either, but I... you know what, no just no.
Great job on the mod though bro! :biggrin.gif: I'll be sitting here in my dark room...waiting...and spamming the refresh button for ati support :]
I use the Female Companion Mod. Works and acts like a gaurd epicly!
Thanks! I'll get this fixed.

Do you have a mailing list? What's the best way to keep track of updates to this mod?
Subscribe to daxnitro on Twitter and I'll start posting updates there.
