Didn't know you had a problem with it. I feel bad, cause I was the one pushing for a temporary fix after you said you would no longer be updating the mod past 1.5.2. It's my fault that it ended up being put out there, so it's on me. If you ask him to take it down, I have a feeling he would with no problem.
What started out as a helpful idea has caused so much upset. Certainly not the intention on which the fix was based.
I was so jazzed that it all ended up working with Magic Launcher too.
Don't get me wrong - I'm glad you changed your mind and decided to keep updating the mod, but I had thought a work-around / temporary fix by a fan of the mod would have been a good thing for the community, especially all the users of Magic Launcher. I honestly didn't think there was any way it would end up being a negative.
I have no idea. I've posted in Magic Launcher's thread about this... they have to fix it.

Really it's not a fix / solution for it. It keep throwing errors / crashing or just not starting. I've tried it with a test vanilla mod that I maked for test it and it only throws me a error.
Will be a Magic Launcher bug.

Oh I didn't mean use Timber without ML or MCF. I meant remake Timber to not use ML or MCF. Which is also not a solution.
Hi, Don't mean to throw another wrench in the cogs.. hehe But this is supposed to work on a server right? I have it loading on the server and when we try to chop a tree (Punch it really) We get no wood. Then Server crashes..
Other Mods running On Server And All clients: Metallurgy_3.2.3.zip, DiamondMeter 2.2.4.zip, KeithyUtils_1.2.zip, Timber! (1.6.2).Zip with Forge 9.10.0.800

Not to sound pretentious, but I use Magic Launcher for most mods I use that aren't required to be dropped into the "mods" folder that Forge creates and utilizes during gameplay. I've had little to no issue using this method, so if it'll help, here's what I do:
1) Install Forge using the user-friendly installer.
2) Change the profile used on the normal launcher to Forge (not sure if it's necessary but better safe than sorry) and then run the game for the first time. Exit after.
3) Run MagicLauncher and go to Setup > Environment > 1.6.2-Forge#.##.#.###
4) Select "Add" and find the Timber! zip file, whereever it is and select that.
5) Test the game and see if the mod is enabled (whether or not trees are timbered down).
If the game refuses to start up after launching using this method, or if the mod doesn't work, go to Setup > Advanded and add
-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
to the parameters and see if that works. Hope this helps!
first i like to say thanks for showing how to install i couldnt for the life of me to figure it out how, though when i installed it it works fine but after a moment in game the sounds go out and when i try on a none modded profile(like the default one it gives you) the sounds stays and i have no other mods installed do you know what i could have done wrong btw BEST MOD EVAH.
When I tried using Modloader with anything minecraft related I always lost all in game sounds.. Try using Forge instead it has a mod loader in it and wont kill your sounds
I know you were looking at stopping updates on this at some point? But i'd still like to ask, do you plan to have a server option available in the future?
Do any of you have Optifine installed? I don't think Timber is compatible with Optifine. Timber wasn't working for me until I uninstalled the Optifine mod. Trust me, I tried every combination of mods that I have, and the only mod that Timber wouldn't work with was Optifine.

Yeah, you're right. Ever since this new update, everything has been very disorienting. Everything works just fine now. Had to place everything into the mods folder.
