Now all we need is baby skeletons....
that can ride the baby spiders, and have minijockeys riding around shooting cute little arrows at you.
Uhh... you want to fight the undead skeleton of a baby? And have said dead baby ride around on a spider? Isn't that... disgustingly horrifying? Think of some creature other than a human that produces a human skeleton and we'll talk. Maybe dwarves or something.

add in so you can tame the baby spider so you have them as pet and only as pet they
cant fight your battle
This would be very hard to code because the game can't save a reference to an entity. It was difficult enough to get the babies to recognise their parents, I had to give them a unique family ID. For the exact same reason, this is why skeletons riding spiders will dismount when you save/reload.

now we want nests where u can place eggs in and it will than breed two instead of one spider and will act neutral
Nests are gone. I'm not making any more mods that do custom blocks. It might be possible to have the nest as an entity but really, I think the throwable eggs are much more fun and rewarding.

the MoCreatures mod already comes with a spawnlist. Do I have to edit that one, download it directly from 303's spawnlist link, or is the one I already have okay?
They are the exact same. It doesn't matter which you use. DrZhark only includes it in his mod to save people from doing the extra step, but I would like people to be kept up to date.

[a lot of stuff]
Well, yeah these ideas are good, and thank you. But there's one glaring problem. When a baby spider grows up, and the baby is within a 1x1x1 space, what happens? The baby suddenly becomes too large to fit inside the space and suffocates to death, and there's not really an easy way to get around that sensibly. Also, the mother spider is like that for a reason. She's a purple tint instead of a dark brown, but at night the only real way to discern between them is by seeing the babies nearby. I may put in spider growth some time in the future, but if you really want a clear distinction between the mother spider and a normal spider, just edit spidermom.png
This might be kind of hard to code, but could it be possible (40-50% chance) to have the babies on top of the mother like the way they do in real life:
Then when momma is attacked, the babies crawl off of her abdomen and attack you?
Or maybe even if the babies are around the momma, and you bump into one of them too many times it scurries onto mommas back and then the others follow suit, momma becomes more apparent of her surroundings and agitation block range increases?
This mod is so much fun to play with :smile.gif:

I'd try to edit it myself but I'm horrible with that stuff.
And if it's in a 1x1x1 place it'll die, if you're keeping one, make sure you don't have them in such a small area.
I'll try to think up some more ideas but in the mean time I have a question.. When it starts to become day it seems that the mother spider just leaves them or something. I'll look out and see the family out enjoying themselves and as soon as it starts to get lighter out, I'll look out and I'd only see a few little babies out there with no mother crying... Is this supposed to happen?
Anyways. Instead of string for the mother to drop why not make her drop spider eggs or spider-meat?
I've already used a mod to make the zombie drop rotten meat instead and just feel like some meat would be more rewarding then some plain ol' string.
I played with some spider eggs earlier and they're pretty neat. However, they need more range. I'm not asking arrow range, just a bit more... They get flung waayyy to short.
Also, I threw a spider egg at a chicken.
True pokemon battle.
I've seen two mommy spiders in an area together twice now.. That's a big death wish there just waiting to come true.
Anyways, I'm going to have some fun trying my baby spider army at mobs.
I wonder how well they would be against birds. That'd be a funny sight to see. Or perhaps a rabbit...
I'll post results later.
Edit:
I forgot to mention. Could you make the eggs stackable? Possibly only to 4, 8, or 10? I'd like that quite a bit.

Yes, really, you've got to be right up against the mob you want it to fight or it will turn on you.
I mean, how heavy are those eggs supposed to be? You toss it as far as if it were 200 pounds.
And it's hilarious to get the baby chasing a bird.

They already do, but just one at a time. Also, the babies are not afraid of the player or offensive towards the player, they are neutral by nature like the pigman zombies. They climb up on the back of the mother as they please. When they do this, they passively act as a mini-shield for their mother so that if you accidentally hit the baby on its back during a fight, the mother doesn't take the hit.

Umm, have you even tried the latest update? The mothers DO drop eggs now that you can throw and use to attack animals and stuff. It's basically a pokeball-style clone concept except the monster you get to summon is pathetically weak, which makes it balanced.
Also, the reason that the mother despawns during the day time is because she is a monster, while the babies are animals. The reason for this is so that DrZhark's creatures will hunt the babies, angering the mother, which makes for some very interesting monster infighting. Babies are very sad that their mother despawns while they don't. Blame Notch.

DAMMIT HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! It didn't happen in testing... but I just installed the files I included and now the problem is very obvious. Sorry... patch coming up soon.
Very good, but one problem. Whenever I find baby spiders, there's no mother, and there's always some string/broken eggs around. I downloaded it correctly, and I also got modloader, etc.

A wild zombie appeared!
Go, Baby Spider!

You could create a mass army of baby spiders.
I blame Curse networks for this!!!
CLICK IT. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO... [SSSS]

But they do kill them in one hit.
Cows take quite a bit of punches before going down of course.
Chickens vs Spiders are still my favorite fight.
Haven't found any rabbits just yet.Edit: The Rabbit can sometimes avoid the attack but in the end it unsurprisingly dies.Hm... I wonder how they'd work if they were fighting slimes..
