The Aether is a huge collaboration by multiple modders, and it's very unlikely they will update until the modding API comes out. Considering how Freak has to convert More Creeps to multiplayer, then the Aether would require the same, which would be incredibly time consuming, because of how large the mod is. It got locked because people would constantly demand an update, which was pretty much impossible to do because the mod would need to be transferred back and forth between the different modders, and the mod is so big. The person who suggest this one be locked as well, is saying that for nearly the same reason. The modders who make and update all the mods on the forums don't do it as a job, but rather as a hobby. If a modder just simply doesn't have enough time, then it would obviously take a lot longer to update. More Creeps isn't as large as the Aether, but it is still pretty big, so for one person to convert everything into multiplayer, well... that's frickin' hard, extremely time consuming, and probably a pain in the butt because Freak hasn't done any multiplayer mods before.
darn i was hopping this mod was up for 1.4.5 but i see it will most likely be out soon. i only found out about this mod from slyfox's videos. it seems to have gotton ALOT bigger since then but i dont want to read it all i rather experince the crazyness firsthand when it comes out. till then i guess im mod surfing for some thing new to have fun with.
making more progress.. need to workaround some of these inaccessible vars and add packet handlers. i don't think this is going to be pretty, but i hope to have something working soon. i am also trying to figure out if there is an easier way to add in the 1,000+ custom sounds.
hope you have the most fortunate luck in updating Freak, we can only wait,patiently, without demanding updates, and being obnoxiously annoying, and complain why more creeps 1.2.5 wont work for 1.4.
i made a replay about the bulls sponing too much but i see that there just not despawinging like every other mob and so my world get over crowded also im not getting many drops when i kill mobs from your mod i've killed like 23 floops and only gottin one raygun from that and when i kill the new bulls there is ony a slim chance to get meat but i cant cook it and it seems like there is no hide from these bull that ive killed so far and iv killed up tp 7 bull so far. so if the only thing i see that need fixing is maybe a rise mob drops and for bulls to despawn over time. ill let you know if i see anything else like this so far dude.

You can change the spawn rate yourself, just lower the number a bit, or to 0 so that none will spawn. Every mod has that text file that allows you to edit the spawn, damage, and other special abilities the mob does.

Thats the situation of MoreCreeps. If it wasn't one big chunk like a crayfish bucket Freakstritch would surely have issued a stage.
