this is one of the best mods, its such a small mod in terms of what it does, but the effect it has is outstanding, seeing a filed of grass is just the best and then mowing it down with a shovel gives me the giggles.
I hope this gets integrated into the main game like notch did with the better light mod.

GENERATION 17: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
hey, idea for the update, this is the suggestion for the version FOR DEFAULT MINECRAFT, when you specify the slot # that the texture is in in terrain.png? if you change the little thing that says "/terrain.png" to "/wildgrass.png" and make wildgrass.png in the root of the .jar with terrain.png, make sure it's 256x256 and then add your textures in there. just specify the slot # like usual.
you would be able to do that right? i've looked through some decompiled blocks so i know how the texture works, kind of.

I love how folks with a limited-at-best knowledge of programming get all antsy when mods don't get updated within 24-36 hours of patch release. I'm not going to be so rude as to tell anyone to pipe down, but I will offer the following:
1) Hastily released updates often lead to bad results. Nobody wants a broken mod, but at least it's not half-working, right?
2) If you truly cannot wait, then (no sarcasm here, seriously) pick up a book on Java and give a shot at making the same mod (or updating it) yourself. Worst case, you gain insight as to why it takes the time it does, and best case, we have another mod to play with!
Also, if the OP is reading this thread, thank you for your time and work! I'm not a huge mod fanatic, but Wild Grass adds so much to the atmosphere of the game - I count it among the best I've seen. Your work is appreciated.

I think some are being less patient than others mainly because most of the other popular mods have either already updated or the authors are at least communicating in the threads to let people know it is being worked on. Demanding things from people in an unruly fashion is one thing, but I don't think it is unreasonable to wonder what's going on with an update when no one has given any indication as to its status.
Anyways, can't wait til this Mod is updated. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but have read so many good things. Seems like it will improve aesthetics tremendously. Good thing there is plenty of other Mods to try out in the meantime!

No, you're completely right. I've been wondering myself if there was any development going on on this mod. At the same time, if nobody has dropped us a line on it yet, then there's little sense in asking "Hoooowwwww much loooonger???"
I was probably a little over-harsh a few posts back, but still decent advice I'd wager. Hopefully nobody took it as a personal attack.
As for the mod itself, it really is fairly subtle, but even so, it helps to break down that fourth wall.
No mods work with 1.3 yet, until they are updated that is.

A shame its no longer compatible, zan's minimap still works with 1.3 with modloader, I guess its a very simple mod.
I want my mods back, so i can be bothered to play the game.
Sigh.
