I'm hoping one of you can help me as I'm new to modding in general.
I've downloaded and updated the files for MorePaintingsExtremeEdition-Server-1.1 on our minecraft_server.jar on our SMP server. We're able to log into the server as usual, but nothing seems to have changed where the paintings are concerned.
Can someone tell me where I need to put the updated kz.png to have that show? Do I just need to do that client side in the art folder and the changes to the minecraft_server.jar will then be reflected?
Any help or specific details on what needs to be done would be greatly appreciated.
this mod puts more spaces for plaintings into kz.png and they actually go into the game
This is the Xtreme edition:

This Mod Is Awesome Hope It gets Updated To 1.1
Tutorial on how to use the mod:
0.Make a backup of minecraft.jar
1.Open minecraft.jar with Winrar or 7Zip
2.Put the Class from above into the main directory of minecraft.jar
4.Put kz.png into the art folder thats in minecraft.jar
5.Delete the META-INF folder
6.Close winrar and you should be ready to go
This. Thanks Sarinilli. The original thread wasn't opened by me, so I can't edit it.
I'm kind of afraid of opening a new thread for the mod, both for respect for the original creators, and for the info present in the current one.
I'll see what can be done about organizing the index of the different pictures, so that they cycle with some kind of order. Changing the organization of the individual pictures in art/kz.png would involve everyone changing their existing art packs, which is kind of a bummer.
No problem. :3
You could probably PM Traviz though and find out what he thinks. Since you've pretty well taken over in his absence, and it's not that he's been away from the forums either, he may not be opposed to you starting a new thread.
And true. But if it wouldn't be too difficult, maybe a second version of Insane for us "small pictures lovers"? Ideally if arrangement can be changed from the minecraft default, I would adore a version like this:
I can guarantee I would be able to fill up and use that way better than the current versions... and if I could code, I would look into it myself.. I know making a third version may just open up a lot of people begging for versions, but this really would be ideal for the "but I like little pictures better" people like me. Just a thought. :3
(edit: and I did leave the frame back out, I know. I personally don't use it because I like some off sized portraits, and smaller organized pictures, the frame border sticks out really oddly on those if it's included. It could theoretically be placed in the lower right corner though..)
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
I realize I didn't add any proposed locations for 3x3 block size pics...
And a new file name checker? That doesn't sound all too much different than a whole separate version. And I'm glad you like my idea, Hadan! I wonder.. I bet if micomico has time and enough people supported the idea he might alter insane for us.
I KNOW...if I prove I can fill it... or just throw kittens around.. ok I don't mean to beg here. *laughs and shuts up*
Modified the layout for 3x3 block sizes, and the option of the frame.
That's weird that there are no replies. This is exactly the mod that I was looking for though. Notch approves
One request that I might add though, would it be possible to cycle through all of the available paintings rather than choosing one at random? Like the painting possibilities would be numbered 1-20, so the first painting you put down would be #1, but if you destroy that painting the next one you place will be #2. If you don't destroy the first painting and keep on placing others, then they're all painting #1, i.e. the pointer for the next painting doesn't advance unless you destroy one.
I think you should have to right click them with your fist to change them, because when you destroy a paining once and a while the item will fly away then you have to run after it, i think you should have to right click them with your fist to change them
Okay, so maybe I'm not quite understanding what you said to do, or maybe there's a mod conflict, but how exactly do I need to install the 1.7.2 Xtreme Edition? Do I need both client and server, as singleplayer can now support a server? Or is it because I'm using Optifine? Or, as with most other mods, is it because I'm not deleting the META-INF folder?
Okay, I've tested the routes I asked about above (except uninstalling Optfine), and here's the issues I'm having:
1) Clientside only, no other changes makes Minecraft get stuck on "Loading World, Building Terrain" screen.
2) Clientside, no META-INF loads game but causes game to crash when trying to load a world.
3) Clientside+Serverside, w/ or w/out META-INF makes Minecraft not actually launch. Launcher closes as if to start the game, then comes back, as if the game opened then closed itself with no errors.
I'm very grateful a mod like this was made. I started mc last year. My world has become large and detailed. I use paintings a lot. I have learned how to photoshop my own custom photos into the kx.png file. The first question I have is, does this mod work on mc version 1.8.1. ? (I also use optifine to help my old computer run a 256x texture).
Another problem I am having is that I was using 1.7.9 to create my world, but upon upgrading to 1.8.1 yesterday several of my 4x4 paintings have fallen off and cannot be put back in place. Second question is, will the "More Photos mod" fix this problem, or do I have to go back to 1.7.9? I'm not going to rearrange all of my structures.
