hmmm.
Maybe ive made a slight mistake, but using your api mod and the inv edit mod together doesnt work. i may have misread something
but i have only installed the api thing and the inv edit.
After it didnt work i tried installing mod loader. It didnt work.
I restarted. Didnt work. Restarted again. didnt work.
API+INV edit = no
Ill try re-reading your post, but i doubt it will help. (Yes, i even read that hilarious lrn2mod post. xD)

I would appreciate it if you would read the "how to report bugs" page I link to in the "prerequisites to using my mods" section. it doesn't have much sarcastic humor in it, it's just a field manual for how to make bug reports that are useful. without you even telling me what's not working, I can only guess that you didn't delete meta-inf and say to do so.

... I´m currently using Misa_'s HD Texture Size : 64x64.
I´ve installed that texturepack into an original minecraft.jar - used the textureFix , installed modloader, IngameInvEdit and the Api (all latest version).
Also some other Mods (like 303´s Arrows etc.)
All mods do their job very well, but your ModOptions-screen seems crappy (looks like wrong texture size for buttons after patching for 64x64 textures). What .png files do i have to resize in order to get that buttons look fine again ?
(snip)
I have not checked how big the default gui.png is, but it's what I use, and since I have not written any resizing stuff to use different-sized textures, gui.png must be the same size as the original.
also: is gui/ still in the archive? I could have sworn I took it out! :/ I'll go check ...

well, in short my methods of installation of this mod seem to quite bluntly fail. Upon putting all files into my minecraft.jar game boot-up results in a black screen.
Yes meta-inf is deleted
And i do have numerous other mods installed...perhaps a conflict?
In case of known conflicts here is what i have:
Mo creatures, Humans mod, risugami's mods(all of them except floodgate, lightsensor, distortion, and signtags), modloader(obviously),battle towers, spawnlist, and ye old minegunner.
(may possibly be more but i don't believe there are)
--Help would be much appreciated--

the setting api does not go well with the HD texture patcher, probably because of twl, not sure who of you could/should do anything about that:

MAJOR BUG HERE!!!!!!!! WITH THE SCREEN API , IF YOU GO FULL SCREEN AND THEN GO TO MOD SETTINGS, IT MESSES EVERYTHING UP AND THE ONLY THING YOU SEE IS THE BACK BUTTON. TO GET OUT MOVE YOUR CURSOR TO THE LEFT OF THE BACK BUTTON OR GO BACK TO NORMAL SIZE.
Fix plox
ok #1 I could barely read what you wrote. don't use so much formatting next time.
#2 plox is not a word, you retard. it sounds like a disease though; maybe a name of a bug? do I have a plox in my api that needs fixing or something? idiot.
#3 I know about this bug. it was a major bug I found early on in the TWL version, and still have not fixed; to use minecraft fullscreen, simply make minecraft fullscreen *before* going into the settings screen for the first time and it *should* work. if it doesn't .. then well, I can't fix it just like that, I already spent a full day on it with no leads last week. I can be sure I'll have it fixed before 1.0, but before that, I won't make any commitments.
other bugs people have complained about are that the buttons do not look exactly like minecraft buttons - which they don't - they look like minecraft-hit-by-a-shrinkray-buttons, because I don't deal with scaling properly (pretty much the same problem as yours). also I don't use the minecraft font, and that's a simple but tedious matter of sitting down and going through each letter in the font and attaching it to TWL.
as far as the split API, I'm having major issues finding a way to create the new API without completely removing the old API. I may end up changing plans and doing an API removal next minecraft update, when modders are already having to change their code and it's easy to change how they use my API right along with it.
Mod edit: Be nice!

wait wait wait. let me get this straight: you're *using a single-mod patcher* and your *game is breaking*. no crap!
advice for next time: don't use a single-mod patcher. there are WIP many-mod patchers that as far as I know will work fine with normal mods, but in the meantime, you don't want to use a patcher if you don't have to. if you do, however, make sure to do the patcher BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE, or you will have problems such as you do there, where it seems to have decided that part of the TWL renderer is main minecraft.
After much brain scrambling and bumbling about I finally found the solution to my problem and what mods where conflicting with each other due to them being installed out of order, thanks man really appreciate it, and I learned something new from you today too. Anyhow keep on making awesome **** like the API settings and keep on trucking

Alright, your screenAPI and the ingame invedit seem to work fine, I've got no issues running minecraft, but when you set the "Sidebar Frames Per Scroll (not sroll, that's a typo)" to 1 and you attempt to scroll, it doesn't move at all. It works for 2 and more, that's it. Also, it scrolls way too fast.
EDIT: Ah, I see it's on your to-do list, though please do keep in mind that setting it to 1 frame won't budge at all.
Edit 2: Odd... If you set both stacksize and framesize changes to 10, it works much better and only goes up by 1. Huh...

The higher the number on frames per scroll, the slower it scrolls. It's based off of your framerate.

If anything, might just want to consider changing the labels to reflect the properties a little better. Something like "Scrolling FPS (lower is faster)". That way it can clarify the confusion a bit better.
Other than that, it works just fine. I see no other real problems with it.
Why am I crashing? Please help me here, because this is not the regular black screen, this is a crash.

Lahwran, I know how to install mods, but I'm just being extra careful here. If API isn't installed, 303's arrows will be non-functional, meaning that the black screen would occur upon loadup.
Can all of the files in the download just be dragged and dropped into my minecraft.jar file?
I'm overwhelmed by the sheer mass of this download, and don't want to take unneccesary risks.

all files in the download must be copied. the reason it is relatively so large is because it includes nearly two whole programs (actually libraries, but same difference) in it, those being TWL and an XML parser library TWL uses named xmlpull.

Goodwhenever. I'm having an annoying problem where I cannot exit an opened API for other mods, where it only hangs, giving no error log.
I push escape, go into "Options...", then "Mod Settings...", then to any random item within the list ( Some of them hang on click). I will use 303's arrows as an example, where I click on the item "303's Arrows", it leads me to all the information inside, where I can edit any of the settings inside, but when I click on "Back", it hangs and stops responding eventually.
I have tested with different mods, some like 303's grappling hook, where it just hangs on click.
I have even tried your own Ingame Inv editor, where it works fine with the default settings, but as soon as I click it in the Mod Settings to change the keybindings, it hangs on me.
I have used only the necessary mods when testing, mods that are only needed so to check if it was a conflict or not. I am using "Minecrafter 1.2.3"
I'd appreciate some advice or information you have on this problem.
Okay, here's the problem: I know how to install mods (generally). That tutorial you linked to basically does nothing but assure me that certain people should not have access to weapons-grade sarcasm. Anyways, that isn't important. The point is, the zipped file contains regular .class files, but also all this other crap like "javax", "xml-pull", or "de"; and amongst the class files were "OLD" files and PNGs. I didn't know where to put these ones, so at first I tried grabbing all of the files and dragging them into minecraft.jar, which led to a black screen upon log-in. That was obviously a longshot, but I really don't know what to do. I think this is to what Doom Marine was referencing, not file size, but the number of files. I tried a number of ways to install, but there are too many options.
Is there anything I'm missing, or is this a glitch?
(My money's on the former)
