My question is do you need a java programming background to make things, or is it just supported you do? What I mean is - if I use a modding tutorial, do I need to know much about java? I have been learning much of it just in case, but I dont know how much I need to learn.
hi,
i was wondering if you could create a mountable dragon??
also when i try to download version 2.7 it crashes my minecraft but version 2.5.3 works can anyone help?
Is there anyway to stop Ogres from destroying the things they drop? It seems annoying that they're capable of smashing things post-mortem, considering that they drop useful items like obsidian and diamonds, yet most of the time they do one final smash right after they die causing it to be destroyed. I understand that the ogre lifting its arms is a signal to the player that its going to smash, but it'd be nice if death overrode the command to do the smash attack.
Hi, I tried to download this mod and I installed it according to your directions and the directions of videos demonstrating how to install the mod. Every time I open minecraft, it freezes at the "mojang specifications" logo screen. It will just stay there and do nothing. What am I doing wrong?
i did what the video Anderz post said and got the new version working, but it seems Mo'creatures is no longer compatitble with SDK's mods....heart breaking

You did a manual install or did you use the TFC modmanager?
Did you remember to install the latest version of modloader(v4), audiomod and GUI API?
I used the TFC modmanager and I installed all the other required mods. I fallowed Anderz video tutorial and it worked better, I got into game, with everything installed and done exactly the same as the video, and when I get to the game, it the mod has no effect, after a good 5 minute walk looking for new animals I found none. I found plenty of default animals though.
When you press Escape > Options > Mod options does Mo'creatures appear in the list?
No it does not.
Then it's probably not installed correct. Just try again. and I would recommend doing a manual install. Modmanager just seems to mess things up at random.
After a manual install when I open Minecraft I get stuck on the loading screen at the end when it says "Done Loading" and the bar is about a cm from the end. I made sure I did everything right, I deleted the META-INF file.
to everyone Who do not see Mo creatures in their game after install: Mods will not take effect on prior made maps. You must make a new map for the mod to take effect in the new map.now you CAN use a map editor to take one maps contents and dump it in the new map.
I'm not certain if it's Mo' Creatures, or if it's theother three requirements for it, but I get an insane amount of FPS lag inMinecraft now. Even when first loading into a new world, the FPS is drastically low and very difficult to play with.
However, on occassions the game will return to normal speed for about five minutes or so, and return to the decreased performance.
So, woul dyou have any idea what could be causing this? I toned down the NPC counts in the Mod Options screen, and that didn't really help.
As a side note, I have gotten to play with some of the mobs (On a different computer, mind you), and I'm quite impressed. Though, I'd love to see the rarer spawns be even rarer than they currently are now. Because even some of the alleged harder-to-find mobs are quite common if you're looking for them.
As a side nte, have you considered any more mobs like the horses that can be interacted with, breeded, ot-despawn, or other things? I really like the mechanic of the horses and it addsa bit of more thngs to do in the game, and was curious if a similar, deep mob set could be added (Perhaps people that you can become friends with that follow you around and fight on your behalf?)
maybe someone can lead me in the right direction as to why this wont work with texture packs at all, as to me manually doing it after texture packs I may just be messing up

The reason why the game slows down with the mod 2.7 is because of the new code to limit the number of spawns. It is not the most efficient way to deal with it, because every time a creature is about to spawn, the code counts how many ocurrences of that creature are already in game. I have modified the methods and came up with a very different approach that works just as well but does not cause lag. It will be released in the next version of the mod, along with the rideable dolphins.
Ill reply tommorow.
(possibly ingame?)
Have good grammar. Save us tiem.
mod manager worked perfectly for me
