Mobs
I'm on a Mac and the new versions works fine in a new world, but on my older worlds the Mo' Creatures animals don't spawn naturally.
I tried the /gamerule doMobSpawning true and that did seem to cause vanilla mobs to spawn, but not the Mo' Creatures animals.
I've also tried reducing the max ambient settings to 20
Any idea how to get automatic spawning in preexisting worlds?
Also, my tame creatures are not here. Does anyone know how to bring my beautiful tame horses to my upgraded world? They disappeared!
Maybe someone can tell me where the files are kept for tame horses and I can take them from my back file from the previous version?
Thanks!
The mod is great!
Awe, it's still 4.7 U.U
Any idea when it will update? I haven't played on the server in a few days because I am 1.5.1 now. Heh.
We are working on some bugs with DrZhark and as soon as they are ironed out we will update. At the moment you would loose all your existing horses and we have a few despawn errors
Can anyone help?
Grimoire of Gaia 2 Config File: http://pastebin.com/aiF8Zfhb *Note when I set one of these settings to 0 to disable them, I get a crash. (IllegalArguementsException) Here is the crash report if I set one of the Grimoire settings to 0: http://pastebin.com/nW9CMHNg
MoCProperties File: http://pastebin.com/dqHThKwD *In particular I am trying to disable the Minotaur and the Valkyrie. I don't even have the Valkyrie in this file and have the Minotaur set to spawn in no biomes and a frequency of 0...yet both of them still spawn in mass numbers.
Is this an issue with Grimoire's side or is there something up on CustomSpawner's side that needs to be fix or do I have the wrong setting?
Forge Mod Loader has found ID mismatches
Complete details are in the log file
ID 1 is mismatched between world and game
ID 2 is mismatched between world and game
ID 3 is mismatched between world and game
and so on until ID 39.
Looking at the files, it appears that the Grimoire of Gaia 2 mod is still adding its mods to the Minecraft/Forge spawner list despite the frequency set to 0... perhaps you should give it a try without MoCreatures and if you still get the error message... then I'm right.
So the mod author will have to add a clause to remove or avoid adding the mobs with a frequency of 0 to the spawn lists.
Both mods can work nicely if that issue is fixed, and then you set the frequencies to 0 on the Gaia config, and use the MoCreatures config file + custom mob spawner to control the spawning of the other Gaia mobs
Well I tried that out without Mo Creatures and to surprise everything worked the way it should. No Minotaur spawned when I set the Gaia config to 0 and I left the Valkyrie at 1 but no setting for them in the MoCProperties file and they did not spawn as well. So I guess that means Gaia is not compatible with Mo Creatures if I want to adjust the spawning?
You'll get the error message only very randomly with so many mobs installed in that mod. If you want to use both mods,
just put every single mod to 0 freq on the Gaia config and use the MoCreatures config to set frequencies and biomes.

That is the problem, when I set 1 or even all the mobs from Gaia to 0 in the config, I get the crash of IllegalArguementsException like the one I posted above about 5 seconds in from joining in on my server. For some reason when Mo Creatures is added with Gaia, it does not like the Gaia setting of 0, but without Mo Creatures, the CustomSpawner will accept it and follow the config settings in the MoCProperties. Oh well, looks like I will have to pick one or the other.
it's the issue I mentioned. Gaia is adding mobs to Forge with a frequency of 0, at some point, you'll get a negative number and the game crashes. How often you get the negative number varies, depends on how many more mobs are added to the list. The higher the number of mobs, the less likely you'll get the error. when Gaia is on its own, you'll notice the crash every hour or so (who knows!)
when MoCreatures is added, it removes the vanilla mobs from the forge list and as you're setting the freq to 0 for all the Gaia mobs on its config file, you get the crash quite often. the fix? The mob author has to add the check I mentioned. I just fixed that same bug on MoCreatures a couple of days ago, that's how I know about the bug. If he contacts me, I'll help him fix the bug.
Ok thanks, I think I get it now. I contacted him via his forum and I guess I wait and see where it goes from there. Thanks!
