Could you copy the code for Zombie Pigmen, take the default skin of the player located in mob, and make humans? (Of course with graphic changes of gold swords to maybe wood picaxes)
You should add deer that drop antlers or meat, but run away if you get close to them, putting an emphasis on using a bow, and to make it easier, they have little health.
so the mod is great but my game crashes if i turn the volume on i get this error

It's like Lego, but occasionally a terrorist sneaks in through your window and blows all of your to hell.
You need the audio mod found in the first post, install that and the error should clear up. If you have installed it, make sure it is installed correctly.

Is it just me or are the wolves really loud compared to the rest of the critters? All I hear ay night in my base camp is howling wolves at what seems like 100db, everything else seems fine sound level wise though even close up which is strange.
All I hear is lions roaring and wraiths howling. SCARY.
On that note, I still think that fire wraiths spawn a bit too often (I got ambushed by 3 at once, maybe just bad luck?) and lions should also spawn slightly less often (since they are the only daytime hostile mob in the game, and day is when you're supposed to be relatively safe D:)
I keep noiticing groups of around 3 lions, and while that sorta makes sense, its still a huge hassle when trying to chop down trees. I had to surround an entire forest with fences and fill it with torches.
I think perhaps the lions AI was more interesting when they had a short range aggro sensor.

you can get back to the short range aggro if you change the difficulty to Normal. Perhaps I should decrease the range of lions even on Hard to let's say 8 squares.
I'm going to change the spawn rate for lions and wraiths, to make them less frequent
lol i went afk real quick i like a min or so and when i come back i see tat a wolf killed me and it was morning when this happend O_O i thought they dont kill unless provoked cause i was afk and didnt put pause so why did it attk me????
lol i went afk real quick i like a min or so and when i come back i see tat a wolf killed me and it was morning when this happend O_O i thought they dont kill unless provoked cause i was afk and didnt put pause so why did it attk me????
they attack during night or in dark places.
also:
lions keep spawning inside of my garden. I just got killed by 4 of them, and my garden isn't that big and is walled in and it was the middle of day :/
lions make hard a bit unreasonably hard, because they kill in two its and ambush in numbers and are basically daytime zombies. Imagine if zombies spawned everywhere during the day all the time D:
reasonable on any other setting, but on hard its nearly impossible to deal with, because tey spawn right behind you in the sunlight and kill you instantly. The only way to be safe from them is to look around you in every direction like every 2 seconds (literally EVERY 2). chop one wood, look around, repeat, repeat, repeat. In my walled in area, i should be safe-ish
less lions, shorter range sensor.
I think, on hard, even the 8 range sensor will be too much, you should keep it at 4 for all settings, because right now they are the hardest mob and are far too plentiful and can spawn very close to you, and I can't use torches to keep them from spawning!!!
let their extra damage be their difficulty increase on hard, better AI is just gnarly.
if you set them to attack sheep, lions, chickens, pigs, and other things at normal range (two seperate entities for targeting, yeah?), then they will be most interesting because they only attack you if they get close, but they will be hard to predict because they will be running around a lot. Make them a little bit uncommon, and this will be fairly reasonable and still unpredictable and challenging without just feeling overwhelmingly evil. lion assassins are evil.
Also, do lions spawn in snow? Because I've seen them in the snow, but I'm not sure if they wandered there or are native there. Make polar bears (they are known for being hyper-aggressive) attack lions, but not the other way around, and make sure lions don't spawn in the snow since we already have to worry about polar bears in the snow . Polar bears, on the other hand, might be reasonable to give a larger sensor than lions. Only polar bears and wolves should spawn in the snow (even pigs and chickens and cows shouldn't spawn in the snow).
Polar bear hunting in the snow to survive? Yeah. Epic.
That guy that suggested deer was right, if deer appeared in all biomes, and ran from all predators (lions, bears, polar bears, and human, and monsters) they would be the primary hunting food source and a challenge to hunt (bow hunting!).
I believe in you :biggrin.gif:
Sorry if I keep giving too much feedback, I am just trying to be helpful with your settings on hard :tongue.gif:

This guy is a very talented modeler. Especially with his creations for minecraft though he hasn't implemented them. Perhaps you could finish them, you may have to ask him for the models. It might be kind of funny if you where to impliment a sea serpent mob before notch. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50745

nice dragon, although really hard to make a mob that complex. For now, i'll stick with easier stuff. Check my ogre in the first post (it was not easy btw)

I have updated the range of lion so its only 4 and 6 depending on the difficulty setting. Also I have made it rarer. So finding a lion won't as frequent. The changes will be in the next release of the mod
Lions and other creatures spawn on snow covered worlds. I am not attempting to change the spawner or bio-dome yet. Looking at the code, it does not seem finished anyhow. What I did was make the polar bear spawn only on snow.
The deer sounds like a very good idea. I'll have to write new AI for the deer to flee the player and other entities. I'll focus on other things first.
I like receiving feedback, it gives me plenty of ideas and helps me fix mistakes.
Good, because I'm a very detailed, although sometimes disorganized, idea-man.
I like to offer feedback since at the moment I'm not fully sure how your code works (I've been slowly taking it apart, I understand about half of it right now). Eventually I'll be able to edit your mod myself, at this rate. This is tied for my favorite mod right now, along with biome terrain mod.
That ogre is great! You should maybe do a variation or two, like a Cave Ogre that only spawns below, say, 40 z levels... also, if it's possible, make the ogres capable of destroying stone, they would definitely be powerful enough to, all things being equal.

BOOMP!
No, I went up to it, and it started attacking me. I paused to check my difficulty, and it was peaceful.
Do you think you could fix this minor bug?
