Coros literally said "still pondering tackling 1.8 updating, at this point I might just wait
for 1.9, going to try and gauge how soon that will be happening." That is going to be a while too. We haven't even gotten a snapshot yet for 1.9. So expect to be on 1.7 for several months :/
@Tanner69046 good to know, yeah might be worth tackling 1.8...
@Owen5595 mmmmm others have wanted it for that too, I've managed to have then run only using 256mb each, they do a pretty good job at stress testing. More reason for me to consider actually releasing the project i suppose!
@samstar2508. Hmm cobblestone should work, make sure that Storm_Tornado_GrabCond_List is true, and that Storm_Tornado_GrabListBlacklistMode is still false (default)
Ahahah I love the gravel dropping idea, its like theyre climbing on the corpses of their zombie brothers, a clever and easy to implement way for stacking up like that, added to notes.
Making them blow up on death is a risky feature heh, was kinda interesting to do with omnipotent creepers when they cant get closer to you, might be worth looking into as a default off configurable feature.
I'm overall not satisfied with hostile worlds, I always seem to be biting off more than I can chew with that mod, I kinda want to turn it into a more passive mod where these things could happen at night if you accidentally get the attention of a zombie and he starts alerting others etc and it builds up to that stairs building situation as you keep killing them off, also only at night ya.
The only feature I really like from hostile worlds atm is my zombie miner, but even that has its issues. Pondering event based vs non event based ways.
I had browsed around my code last night and remembered that I actually already added another type of digger to hostile worlds for its latest released, a "clawer" that IIRC can only break lower quality stuff, it's been a while and I think I got bored and cut my plans short.
Need to ponder this, been definately more bored lately and wanting to add little fun additions, I always love making night/survival aspects to the game more fun/challenging, not sure if I wanna borrow on zombie awarenesses AI routine enhancements for this or just make zombie awareness just improve on it or borderline make it essential to use with hostile worlds.
Also sharknadoes (creepernadoes?)
Edit: added donate button to main post, if I do end up adding the stuff, feel free to do whatever, (don't donate ahead of time I can't guarantee anything feature wise due to time and motivation)
@LtSich Yeah I noticed that last night when playing around with new digging zombie code, I think I need to either prevent cave spawning unless player is in a cave nearby, or do some more agressive despawning of mobs. Back in 1.5.2 when I had an actual server I had made a custom despawning mod to help make Zombie Awareness work with Special Mobs, sadly I think I lost the source to that in the great dev harddrive crash of 2014 QnQ
@AegisLeshaOh yeah I had considered that at a time, forgot about it, I should play around with it, AUTOBUILD ALL THE THINGS!
So I've been successfully really bored all weekend, some progress on increasing hostile worlds passive hostility, released a vid of the injected digging task I put into vanilla zombies:
Also just did some early testing of the 'place gravel on death' idea, this formed after about 200-300 zombie deaths
Took a while for it to form, maybe ill make them sacrifice themselves to form it automatically, might work well with a 'call for help' routine that spawns more zombies somehow, but only if you've let the situation escalate by not killing every zombie aware of you hiding in your base.
Most of the blocks the tornadoes throw around just disappear before they hit the ground! Please fix this Coros! Tornadoes are supposed to make a huge mess! And fix the tornadoes not destroying anything in hilly biomes!
Coros I'm not sure if u have heard about fireresistance on YouTube who used YOUR Mod (Weather2) to try make an entertaining skit of two terrible tornadoes and the deaths from them but u should do something about it.
Hi. I just want to say that ive used your mod for over a year now and I love it. Its really fun especially on multiplayer with friends but i have some ideas for changes and additions. I hope you can do these but if not thats fine.
1. Making the weather forecast block look similar to how it does in real life (color coded to dbz of storm): like the radars you see online or on TV when the weather is on. This is just an idea i thought would be cool but i can understand if you dont want to do it because i can imagine changing something that much would be hard.
2. Changing hurricanes: Hurricanes should have storm surges and just strong wind that can break windows and damage structures, not a funnel that is on the ground like a tornado.
3. Tornadoes power: All the tornadoes do the same damage but just get wider when they increase in power. But they should increase in power AND width
And thats about it! Thanks for making such an awesome mod and continuing to update it! I look forward to the next update for this mod!
So just an idea for weather2, try to make It a little darker in the stronger storms Seen as A hail storm Is A "stronger" storm than regular minecraft thunderstorms they should be darker than them, Also the new F1 and F2 tornados seem a little too large, I liked the old ones Were they were much smaller than the F3 F4 and F5. Oh and last of all can you make it so that tornados don't have the wind particles in the middle so it doesn't cause as much lag like the old mod?
