Went back to the 1.1 version and installed the old destructive mod the storms are so mean there is like a lightning strike every second and saw 5 TORNADOES AND 2 HURRICANES in the one storm without touching the config freakyand is there a Weather&Tornadoes V1.1 for mc 1.2.5 around I can download?

@pipitheguineapig hmm good point about not having to dig a whole in the ground, I think I might revise it so it works how you say if motivation permits. I agree with the progression of storm parts you said too, that's pretty much what I plan on, still gotta work on the building up of the storm part, but I've got all the main states done. Took a bit of a break from copying and converting code over from weather1 to weather2 to make.... volcanos (I just couldnt resist)! Only 1.5 days worth of work so far but:

@Reelzerz I want to make it so you have to pay at start of use of mysterybox yeah, given the design of ZombieCraft its difficult to make something liek that a quick easy update, still pondering what to do with ZombieCraft, a small bugfix update is pending though.
Also regarding some other stuff asked in most recent page, I'm planning on lots of rewrites, going to bail on ZA scents as entities at some point and make them just pure data for less issues with mcpc+ and so on (probably for 1.8 update push)
I'm also a week into a complete rewrite of weather mod (for 1.6.4, which is still the more popular to use mc with mods, will make updating a rewritten weather mod to 1.8 much less of a nightmare too), with a focus on localized weather, the better design will also let me make it more multi dimensional friendly (so you can choose what dimensions have what features), current 1.591 weather mods code is a huge mess (has remnants of code/bugs from pre client/server mc update)
Been able to code every day, my knee is considerably less b i t c h y, outlook for progress life and code wise is improving.

For good measure I'll reiterate my plans for weather 2:
Weather is going to become localized, not all across the dimension mc style. This means you will actually see a stormfront coming your way before it actually starts to rain and so on, hearing the rumbling of distant thunder from it etc (if its an actual thunderstorm type)
The progression and development of storms is going to be more comprehensive as well, ranging from a forming storm that does nothing, to rain, thunder, high winds (global wind flow + storm based wind for effect), hail, and the dreaded tornado if the storm gets spinny enough and has a touchdown.
To start im going to try to keep the 'weather system' as basic as possible and just have chance of stormfronts in a semi random manner, in addition to allowing tropical storms / hurricanes to form over ocean that might eventually hit land.
Going to do my best to profile the area around players so I can take advantage of oceans/lakes/rainforests for higher chance of formations, maybe deserts for killing them off (unless it becomes an annoying issue)
With my ability to override the default rain render I will use that to enable rain if an actual storm is overtop of you, and stop when it passes etc.
(I keep thinking of adding stuff like volcanoes for more crazy fun but no promises)
Back to the grueling task of converting over my funky tornado spin code!
As the storm is in the distant can you make the background darker especially as it gets closer and maybe some new storm types like supercell,multivortex,microbursts,and are you going to keep water spouts,in the deset you should add ,sand,dust and ,dustnados, im sorry about the previous post my computer screwed things up and i did not read before posting i am sorry about that.

Just spent 6 grueling hours updating a large chunk of weather1 to weather2, that being the particle enhancement code, burnt me out pretty well for today.
Tropicraft appears to just work with this state of weather2 (and doesnt actually require weather2 as a dependancy), though I still need to enable proper multidimension support, for now its just overworld until I add the GUI for selecting what dimensions are weather enabled etc, that comes last.
Do you have plans for cloud features, and can you make some storms stronger than others, as well as some hail producers as well some not, will there still be lightning flashes, and maybe complex cloud to ground lightning, is there a reason there are no water spouts, cause I remember when there were was really cool, I hope you re add them especially during wind and strong storms at sea , where they form as spouts and if near land become tornadoes,

so your adding volcanoes holy moly this is going to be great so will the volcanoes start to deveolp under ground and then work there way up to the surface

One thing that no one really thought of, tornadoes avoid hills, which is logical and good, but they shouldn't avoid city maps and big buildings and skyscrapers (this mod is just so much fun with those maps)
I agree there is nothing better then watching a stage 3 tornado smash right through the city of greenfield
Don't like volcanoes that much, the natural disasters mod made a bad impress on me, but maybe your volcanoes will be much better. Make a turn off/on option, and frequency of spawning. Also the rising hill when forming a volcano should be a very slow process. There is also very fast and hot smoke cloud that comes down from a volcano.
If you will make a hurricane, don't use this old one, it just looks like a tornado, make no walls of clouds spinning (or just a little) only strong winds that blow off leaves from trees and erase houses but make the wind blow almost straight, not twisting as much as in tornadoes (hurricane is much bigger) in hurricane, there shouldn't be any vertical force, so player shouldn't be sucked in the air and blown off blocks should land somewhere in an almost straight line away from their original place (the way the wind blows). It should also be possible to walk in the wind of hurricane but very hard, (unlike tornadoes the wind is so strong it sucks you in and up instantly). Blown away blocks might also hurt the player. (This mod will contain soo much stuff at the end that you'll really have to make some weather and earthquake/volcano instruments. Anemometers... Storm warnings...)

Apologies if this bug has been reported before, but there is a cross mod conflict with Weather & Tornadoes and Smart Moving in Minecraft 1.6.4.
Apparently in this version of Minecraft, Smart Moving changes the entity the player uses, which allows the player to be blown around by the ambient wind in Weather & Tornadoes.
Can you please add currents to rivers and oceans and maybe make them be influences for storm formations? i love this mod its my all time favorite mod and i love what you are doing to update it. Will there be a scale for tornado intensity, as well as can you please re add water spouts, are there circumstances to when hail happens? maybe you can add wall clouds,and thunder heads, as well as storm fronts, do you like any of my ideas, please let me know what you think? so far great job! keep up the great work

So will your storms use the smooth rain still I think your rain IS WAY MORE REALISTIC and may look better with the hailhey maybe when under the storms a strong wind howl noise plays and and get louder when a tornado formation is imminent
You could also add different sounds for different tornadoes, bigger ones should have lower sound or something... And since there is a lot of great ideas on this site, I'd say you first target on coding weather/tornadoes/hurricanes, because that's what this mod is all about on first place. Then, do some other stuff, like volcanoes, river currents, instruments. When you add the water spouts back, don't make them so blue, there is no blue tornado like that. The color should be gray and just a little grayblue. Same with dirt and forest, the colors are just too bright. Such green tornado doesn't exist.

It would be cool if some could lean and twist and make different movements, I have a crazy idea, RADAR!! To track storms! Oh and some storms could be severe bad others not, which could influence if it hails, there should be hail sizes from small to large.?
Don't worry, I had an idea about different shapes and movements of tornadoes too and weather instruments, but Corosus already has to make soo much stuff, that i didin't mention it. I did say about weather instruments too and hail that could possibly brake glass and damage player. But as I also said, he should first stick to weather mod basics and when that's working, go for other improvements. I also agree that EF1-EF5 rank would be very nice and hurricane which is really big and stays for a long time at the last stage.
Let's wait what corosus comes up with for now and then comment, oh and what do you think about tornado colors?
it would be neat to have different tornado colors based on the terrain there on, and as for the tornado scale. it could be Ef0-Ef5 and the different categories on the Fujita scale could be influenced by the storm stage and for the hurricane, they should be ranked by categories from category 1 to category 5. basically the tornado ranges from EF0-Ef5 and for hurricanes category 1 to 5
maybe there could be fronts that move through from the sea which bring heavy rains and can turn to hurricanes depending on the intensity of the storm. the types of tornadoes you can get are wedge,rope,and mesocyclone or multivortex. these storms come with powerful wind fronts and supercell thunderstorms which can bring damaging hail,strong winds,and lots of lightning, then you can also just get rain storms and regular thunderstorms that may have hail but not produce a tornado. the factors of these storms should be the moisture from the biomes and the wind currents and in which it blows, for example, it all has to be the factor around the climate and the moist and wind flows. by the way my major is meteorology and id be happy to help give ideas,cause this is my favorite mod of all time

Also the size of the storm in this and previous pics is small because im too lazy to move far away from it so I just made the storm smaller.
I'll most likely make the nastier storms always be very large, as it is a better effect etc.

wont grab dirt, grass, sand or wood material (i should probably still make it grab planks), also it converts grass to dirt
Oh also made clouds darker at night again, and also made no block grabbing happen in biomes with elevation of over 0.7 (hills biomes)
