mctmp is just a temporary folder you create to extract all the files inside the minecraft.jar into. As a .jar file, you can't view or edit any of the files inside it, so extracting the files inside it into a folder you can actually access allows you to edit those files. This makes modding possible.
When you enter "mkdir mctmp" into terminal, you're making a folder called mctmp. That's what mctmp is.

I'm running Mo' Creatures, Better Light, Better Grass, Simplemap, and that mod where the torch brings light without placing it on the ground.
I'm also getting this exact same problem and I'm also running on a mac. I hope that's not the problem. But anyway, the qg.class file is the one that the Audio Mod affects.
I've been trying to find out how to fix it for some time, but so far no luck. I did find however that moving the "mod" folder (the one that has the new monster sounds) out of the resources folder can get it to work, though with no sound for the new critters. If you move the "mod" folder that has the sounds the new monsters are supposed to make into the newsounds folder or out of the resources folder entirely, the game will run without getting this error you posted, but the new creatures won't make any sound.
I tried getting help from the IRC mentioned in the first post, but I was told by the people inside that it wasn't "truly a troubleshooting/advice IRC." Hard to know what to do. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.
My game freezes at the loading-screen. The screen says "Done Loading" and the loading bar is barely full.
I noticed I forgot to delete that META-INF file but, when I checked minecraft.jar, I couldn't find any META-INF file anywhere. ._.
I don't know what to do now. :c
Same here...
Mods installed:
- Mo Creatures Full 1.6.5
- Battle Towers V2
- Wild Grass v5.2a
- Hand held Torch Light
- Chicken Mod v2
I'm using Mod Loader 1.2.6 V2 and Audio Mod 1.2.6. The mods were working for a long time, but recently i've screwed the minecraft.jar and I've installed the actual mods.
Only Mo Creatures and Battle Towers need Mod Loader/Audio Mod. When I Install them i got a black screen right after the login. : (
OK, i've realized the problem...
The Modloader/AudioMod were in a RAR files that i was opening using 7ZIP.
The BZ2 files were being opened by TUGZIP.
When I dragged the files from the RAR/ZIP to place in the BZ2, the file became broken.
An advise: Don't Mix files openers, use the same or the game may crash, i strongly recommend 7ZIP for the BZ2 and RAR/ZIP modifications.
I get a black screen with the new ModLoader. I know it's ML because after I remove it, Minecraft works fine. I have 1.2.6 and I downloaded it only about 10 minutes ago, and I know I installed it correctly. Any info on this problem? Thanks.

Delete the META-INF folder.
Nope, still black screen. Thanks for trying to help, though. I appreciate it.
I am sorry but I am fairly new with the mac, and I do not understand where this is at all.
3) Outside of terminal, copy the class files into the mctmp directory.
Please help.
Okay, I'm assuming you followed the mac installation instructions in the first post. If you did properly, there is going to be a folder on your computer somewhere called "mctmp." Click the magnifying glass on the top right of your screen and search for "mctmp." This should locate the folder. Double click it and inside should be a whole bunch of .class files and folders and such. These are files minecraft reads to run the game. Once you have that folder open, drag and drop the .class files from the various mod folders you wish to install into the mctmp folder. It's going to warn you about replacing some files, say yes to all that. Once all that's done, close the mctmp folder and continue to step 4 of the mac installation guide in the first post.
hey! im pretty new to minecraft (had it for a week or 2 now) and i loved it the moment i played it. well anyway ive used like 10 mods and i always looked at the files it used and they never used one that another mod used so i assumed they would not conflict so i dont know if thats what happened or not bcause when i did this floodgate mod it crashed. If anyone could help me with this and tell whether it was a conflict btween 2 mods or just a freak thing it would be greatly appreciated (BTW Risugami i LOVE your mods!)
Spawner GUI updated. Added a scrollbar (Whew!). Now it should properly support tons of entities. Only appears when needed (I think, untested). I can probably reuse the code in More Worlds. I also have game pause now.
Just tested with a BUNCH of mobs installed, and the scrollbar doesnt appear. (tried clicking around where it should be also, and nope) Thisd be useful now that so many cool mobs are being added.
Much luv Risu!
I downloaded the Elemental Arrows mod and this happened:

OK, trying to fix my ModLoader. I believe I have the latest one and I've tried to install it properly about two dozen times now. It's not working. I figure it's overwriting needed programs, and the only other mod I have is the RawCritics Client. I followed the guide step by step, and so far I got nothing.

You haven't installed ModLoader along with the Floodgate mod.
Wrong, the bq.class from SSPCommands is overwriting the bq.class from modloader you will need to find a compatibility file for the two mods in question (I'll look into it myself and see what I can do)

You forgot to install Modloader for SpawnerGUI. The part that I made bold is a Modloader function when ever you see that error that means another mod has replaced bq.class with its own which lacks this function or you forgot to install Modloader.

Modloader isn't compatible with Zan's Minimap (a.k.a.RawCritic's Client) install the compatibility file I uploaded.
I'm having a trouble with the latest release of the Mod Loader. While using a fresh untampered with minecraft.jar(excluding the deletion of the Meta-inf), the modloader just isn't loading up.
