Your using forge for old modloader mods. Most of the time, they don't work together, especially not with other mods. Very few modloader mods work with forge, and they only work because they don't change enough to be affected by any other mods. (THIS IS LONG POST SAYING THAT IT DOES NOT WORK)
download 25 different files make sure there all compatible try to find non existent help if they dont work if you do get them to work wait five minutes they will be out of date rinse and repeat thats forge in a nutshell oh and dont forget about the random crashes for no reason and no i dont hate mods i always use opitfine and tmi and i do play feed the beast all-tho it crashes more than i like
The help is in the crashlogs, and mods don't update in 5 minutes. If you don't want the numerous bugfixes, dont use them. If you hate forge, you hate mods, and the crashes aren't random or for no reason. They have a reason, such as installing two of the same mod, having a mod for a different version, not having a dependency or having an ID Conflict.
Am confused about 6) Now with the jar you should do the steps below under Windows starting at number 3. because I cannot find anything called minecraft.jar

If you can help, thank you so much
All MC.jars used to be saved as minecraft.jar (in the /bin directory, now removed). They could always be renamed, I changed them to MCVersion.jar (ie MC1.4.7.jar). now they get saved in the MC/versions directory. Please understand none of Risu's Mods will work beyond 1.6.2.

Thank you for this post, it is very informative. Yes, I read the whole thing. I hope it wasn't a waste of time considering it is from 2010. What is the reason for the meanspirited name calling by the original person posting this?
nothing much, but i think modloader was one of the first minecraft mods.
It's the foundation all Mods are based on. Before ModLoader it was difficult to impossible to run multiple Mods.
Odds are very good, without Risu there would be no Forge.
Thanks Risugami

Yes, Modloader is the original modding interface. It doesn't do anything the user sees to the game by itself, but allows the loading of multiple mods at once and helps to keep them from conflicting with each other, something that even Forge still doesn't do with 100% accuracy. The new item naming system should make that problem a thing of the past, one of the steps towards a built-in modding system.
Never would have happened, I don't think, without Modloader. I see I have the 15th post on this thread from way back in the alpha days, didn't realize I was modding the game that early, had only been playing a few months by then. Of course, before Modloader, there were great mods by MrMessiah who essentially invented smooth lighting. What a controversy that was.
Thanks Risugami, for all the great work and effort and great fortune in all future efforts. We all owe you.

Why do you hate forge? I'm guessing you hate mods as well?

i guess risugami lost his internet or something.
if you're using forge, most of these mods won't work.
