I eagerly await modloader/arrows mod again once they're updated. I hope you fix the issues with it requiring regular arrows in your inv at the same time to fire the special ones, and it firing two special arrows at once. I didn't notice them for the longest time.
A big thanks to Risugami for all the hard work you put in on making everything else possible! I don't know how you put up with the trolls that come on here and have the gall to demand stuff from you, but know that you still have lots of people who love and respect what you do. Take your good 'ol time.
I want to add my voice to those who want to thank Risugami for his effort in developing ModLoader. I have been using ModLoader for quite some time with mods I've been using, and I've been developing mods using ModLoader for several versions now. I don't understand this mentality that seems to be coming from the Minecraft Forge community of trying to capture all of the ModLoader developers.... particularly when they treat those developers like garbage. When I've raised legitimate issues about Risugami's mods I've had them reasonably addressed... and in a timely manner. Bugs in ModLoader have been fixed and due consideration for developers using ModLoader has been made. I certainly have no room for complaints. Updates have even been timely, so even the indirect implication that somehow ModLoader is an inferior API because Forge is currently working is unfounded.
Keep up the good work, or even if you decide to throw in the towel and tell the Minecraft community to go to hell with all of the whiny brats that have been on here.... this has been a very good run. I have appreciated all of the effort you have put into all of your mods including ModLoader and have learned a whole lot about Minecraft by examining those mods. I would like to see your mods updated for 1.4.2, and if that happens... fantastic! The Recipe Book and Shelf mods in particular have been huge favorites of mine, and Biosphere is simply amazing. As long as you produce mods for Minecraft, I will maintain 100% compatibility with all of your mods.
Just wanted to chime in and add my thanks to that being expressed.
You've been a silent partner in the development of BTW for the last year and a half Risu, and I don't think I've ever taken the time to show you my appreciation for that.
So a big thanks to you for all the work you've put into making modding MC possible, and for all the enjoyment you've helped bring to so many MC players.
I too, want to thank you, Risugami, for making ModLoader possible. It has become an incredible part of Minecraft modding, and has played an enormous role in my Modding Tutorials. Although they aren't much, I still want to thank you.
Without ML, minecraft modding wouldn't be possible. You're incredible, and I really can't imagine how I was able to mod minecraft without modloader, years back.
And a note to all of the very eager forum users. Please stop the spam. Risugami will update the mod whenever he gets a chance. This is a big move in between versions and you have to give the guy a break. Having to update the biggest yet most important mod in minecraft is nothing to sneeze at. Don't ask when 1.4.2 is going to come out. When the numbers in the title change, you'll know.
From the bottom of my befuddled and obnoxious heart, I thank you, Risugami, for all of the hard work you put into maintaining what is undeniably the bedrock (pun intended) of Minecraft modding.
It's thanks in large part to your kind and laborious efforts to provide us ModLoader for what is effectively free of charge (none of us pay out of pocket though we do remunerate you somewhat via adf.ly) that I was able to create such fun modifications and enjoy fun modifications by others. It's thanks in large part to you that the Minecraft modding scene has become so prolific.
You are truly historic and there are no words or actions that can truly express the sentiment of not only my feelings but the feelings of countless others who were able to achieve their Minecraftian dreams with your help. Suffice it to say, we are deeply indebted to you, Risugami. I don't know if we can really pay back this debt but what I do know is that we will continue to use the tools you've provided us to actualize the infinity of possibilities and preserve Minecraft as a game where the player can literally do anything.
I look forward to where you and your creations go with this 1.4.2 update and every update thereafter. Whether you'll continue to play your fatherly role in modding or step down and say goodbye, I will happily and graciously accept and support your decision. You will receive no complaints from me.
Yet again, thank you Risugami. You are truly fantastic.

Agreed, although I keep seeing more people demanding updates that those willing to patiently wait it out, or whining about how it doesn't work properly.. Some people need to learn that good things take time, and that modders owe them nothing, but they owe modders support and appreciation for their efforts, instead of constantly demanding content and updates from them.
Looking through some of these threads here, I have to admire the dedication that the various modders have, putting up with the various f****ards that demand everything yet contribute nothing in return. I take my hat off and bow in respect to all of the modders here.
I chime in too. I remember a long ago, when i was checking modding with a septic eyes. Modloader had just came out and most mod where incompatible with each other. You've changed that, you made modding as it is today. Thanks you.

While you are waiting for the modloader update, there is a very good alternative that you can use to start porting your mods to 1.4.2 already. Check https://github.com/cpw/FML/downloads for the modloader compatible FML. You can easily switch back to modloader later if you want.
I use 15 mods and FML breaks my mods! Never never used FML, for me its thing. I do always use modloader. never FML. Sorry if my sentence is like harsh, but I hate FML.
Ontopic, Can't wait for the 1.4.2 update Risugami

MagicLauncher is the best launcher I ever used! Hoping the developer would update for 1.13.x and 1.14.x
Ok, so if he decides not to update, will there be no mods for 1.4.x anymore? Or will people look for alternatives so they can keep playing with mods?
Quote from luacs1998 »
There are plenty of alternatives, but I shall not mention them in order not to anger the locals, but you know what I mean
^as luacs stated there are alternitaves the only mods effected by risugami deciding not to update any of his mods ever would be his here and any other mods totally reliant on ModLoader. At that point those others would be forced to choose one of the other alternates or stop as well.
But once mojang have their own API (providing that the Mojang API is going to work as promised and be easy to use from a mod makers point of view) the whole ModLoader vs Forge debate will become moot. Until such time though it will be down to the individual modders to decide on what API to use.
This is just hilarious, you try to load 1.3.2 mods in 1.4.2 and complain that it does not work? On this intellectual level I'm not surprised you guys have problems using FML
Except the fact that the main internal mods are up to date and are the ones showing errors. Not the external, which surprisingly are fine (minus rei's minimap which would not load at all). I haven't actually tried FML, seeing as I am not currently playing minecraft that much. But in the past, anytime I had issues like this, the internal errors were the problems. Also, insulting the people you're trying to impress, or "woo" over, never turns out well.

That actually depends. Over the while I've been using magiclauncher (i use multimc now) it's been telling me lies about mod errors. I don't trust it.
ok.. Point taken on that one and I stand (rather sit) corrected.
All I was trying to get across was, You, Risugami, Flowerchild, Joe Bloggs, Mr and Mrs Smith, or A. N. Onymous do not HAVE to update their mods/tools. The screaming hoards of "GEIF MODZ NAO!!" to paraphrase the colloquial stereotype don't help and the mod/tools will update as and when the author sees fit.
Obviously if it NEVER updates (which is unlikely and I was just putting that worst case scenario out there to illustrate a point) then yes.. there ARE alternatives. Obviously there are alternatives. I'm not belittling those alternatives either. I'm used MCP in the past myself. Thought it was excellent .. although I am (by no stretch of the imagination) a mod developer. I am a professional programmer and mess around with my own minecraft for Sh*ts and giggles.
if you go back and read my post in the spirit in which it was intended then you'll see I was not getting at anyone other than the impatient sods out there.
I can wait.. as a wise man once said "Patience is a virtue"
Dude I love how intelligent you are putting this. But I just have to quote chuggaaconroy here and say: While patience is a virtue..."BUT ITS A BORING VIRTUE!!!"

Lol Searge this is one reason why I stopped updating TOK after TyberAlex stopped. After a while you get angry reading threads and hate mail. And wow hats off for such a fast release on 1.4.2 Searge. Pays to have them inside conections. You might want to take this off your email alert list like i did a while back. These people will drive you nutty like they did me not all of them but a majority of them will.
Risugami's work is the bedrock of modding. Think of what Minecraft mods would be without modloader. Even Forge wouldn't exist.
Not really true. Forge would still probably exist. If you want to consider something the "Bedrock" of modding, it would have to be MCP even though it isnt even mandatory to use it in order to make mods. Modloader is a commonly used mod though, and has significant importance because hundreds of other mods rely on it. My other post was deleted for update spamming? Really? All I did was ask WHEN anyone thought the update would be released, or if there had been any news on it. Then I tried to explain exactly how I feel about people bein' all "Take as much time as you need!" We really do need this update, and despite the fact that the author of it "Owes us nothing" (Which I agree with) I encourage him to get it out as fast as possible. In my mind this is not "Update spamming," but whatever. I am certainly not one of those people who goes "Y U No maek modsxz workK!" I actually understand that making mods is difficult, and that it takes time. And I hope you understand that.
