Have you ever thought that the jump between Iron tools and Diamond tools is to large? Have you ever wanted tools that are easy to enchant but aren't as useless as gold? Have you ever wanted glowing Redstone Blocks? Or have you ever wanted Robots to fight for you? Well that is exactly what this mod adds.
The first few steps of my mod are the same things you do in any Minecraft world when you start off: you punch a tree, make some basic tools, find coal, make a house and make a mine. Amethyst Ore appears 32 blocks above the bottom of the world (Bedrock) and is a bit more common than gold (Amethyst Ore glows and is purple so you will know when you find it). Amethyst tools are about three times as durable as Iron tools are and they are about half as durable as Diamond tools are. Amethyst tools also get the best enchantments other than Gold tools and they mine faster than Iron tools (but not as fast as Diamond tools). After you have found Amethyst you will also need Redstone, Obsidian and a Diamond pickaxe to mine the Obsidian.
You may now be asking to yourself "Why do I need all this stuff?". Well the reason is you probably want an Amethyst Robot. Amethyst Robots are a bit like Snow Golems which throw snow balls at your enemies except that Amethyst Robots shoot Arrows.

What Minecraft is to me and my journey to becoming a modder:
Minecraft is place where the only limit is your own imagination (and bugs). Minecraft is a place where you can play how you want: you can be a farmer, a miner, a relentless monster hunter, a creative mode builder etc. etc. etc. But one of the best things about Minecraft in my mind is how your creativity is not limited to what is in the game, as there are many different modifications (mods) that you can pick and choose from, or in my case if you can't find what you want you can make it yourself. In my case I started off my journey to making a Minecraft mod with no knowledge whatsoever in coding in general, much less in JavaScript specifically. But through the help of Eclipse (The program I use to code), the Minecraft source code and a youtuber named "HenryTheCoder" I was able to gain massive amounts of knowledge on coding and I was able to code for the first time.
Installation:
You MUST install ModLoader first. After you have done that install this mod in the same way you installed ModLoader: by putting all the .class files and .png files in minecraft.jar.

Sorry I accidentally posted before I was finished writing, This mod is for 1.1 but it will be updated very soon (hopefully tommorow), the download link is now there and images will be coming soon
i downloaded this for 1.2.3 but the amethyst ore doesnt show... not even in creative mode. everything else does though.
For some reason blocks that I add to the game are not in the creative mode inventory although it does spawn naturally in the world, you could also craft 1 amethyst into 1 amethyst ore
