As of recently, the 20th anniversary of Metroid Prime, for the Nintendo GameCube was announced. It has been a goal of mine for quite some time to work on a complete re-creation of the Metroid Prime Overworld map (along with the frigate). Checking the Metroid Prime Wiki, I noticed that there are around 250 rooms or so to complete, which would take a while to complete. It has already taken me about 3 weeks now to work on the landing area in Tallon Overworld, as shown here:
My strategy for completion is to segment every room into a schematic and then eventually find a method of adding these rooms together in a single map. I am not experienced with modding of any sort, which is why i decided to reach out to the community to see if anyone was interested in contributing to such a project. If not, this is a passion I have had for a while, and something I will continuously update the community on. due to work and stuff, I cannot account as much time as I would like to into this project, but whenever i have time off, i will be working on this.
I also created a discord for any members who have other plans on how to conduct this operation, or methods of working on the map, such as getting specific proportions for things or textures: https://discord.gg/9TxfF9Cx
I am currently using only single player commands to work on this map, but I am open to other mods that would be useful.
Thank you if you have taken the time to read this. I know this post is a bit scuffed, but i assure you over time i will work on banners and signatures to make this seem like a more professional project. Just in a time pinch at the moment. Thank you for your time. If you are interested in anything related to the project, please let me know on my account here or discord. I will actively be monitoring those areas.
I will be releasing the first map of the landing site once i have completed the textures, so if you are interested in that, please stand by
I realized This probably belongs in WIP maps. I will move the discussion to that area shortly
