Age of Sail is a naval fighting game set around the 18th century, opposing the 5 major colonial powers: Great-Britain, Spain, Portugal, France and the Dutch Republic. Players will be able to cruise the open world, a huge replica of our planet, and fight ennemy sailors anywhere. The final version will have a ton of different features, including but not limited to, PvP activities such as; naval battles, blockades, port battles, land sieges, etc.. and PvE activities such as; crafting, trading, exploring, etc...
The game will be built over several maps, each built on top of the last. Each new maps will bring new features while keeping the old one's. For exemple, the first map will showcase naval combat. The second map will see ports added, and will showcase naval combat as well as port battles.
What am I looking for?:
Of course, this is a very big project, and I can't do it alone. Thus, I am looking for builders, coders and resource pack makers to help me.
Coders: There will be a lot of coding involved in the map, ranging from ship motion and cannon ballistics to simpler things like shops and basic map coding. Because there will be a lot of command running at once, I would like coders who know how to code compact programs, keep them off when they are not relevant, run them at the minimal speed required, everything to keep each program at the bare minimum requirements.
Builders: All sort of builds will be required: lobbies, ports and forts, natural landscape and ship design. I am looking for builders who are willing to do a lot of work. I also the want the builds to be simple, for practical reasons (by simple, I don't mean flat and boring. Simply put, try not to go overkill on the details).
3D Resource Pack Makers: I am planning on giving most of the in-game items a 3D texture. Therefore, the textures to be made will be cannon balls, muskets, food, coins, etc... I would also like to make the ships using 3D models, since they would be prettier and they would be easier to run overall, but I don't know if it is possible to create such large textures.
Server: And, finally, a good server will be required. Since the further the project is, the more commands will be running at once, I can't get one on some website offering low-quality server. I don't know anything about servers, nor do I have money to waste on one, so I thought someone might be willing to lend me one.
