woot! Looking forward to hearing about the next updates! Did you ever put out a new link to test? I don't remember one but I might have missed it.
btw Rabid, if you ever want to collab on something in the future I'd be interested. I've been impressed by your dedication and I don't have someone that knows how to do textures or resource packs in my builder group. If you feel like helping out on space expedition or a future project let me know.
Sure thing! I'm no architect, but am more of a command blocker. This week alone, I have made an Ocarina and Boomerang in vanilla 1.11.2 with command blocks. (meh maybe I'll do a minigame)
No new link, but the boss fight is all that's left.

Well, been working on a sidequest, and am getting to the boss battle pronto. I just realized I need to change the screenshots in the OP seeing as they're all invalid. : P
still patiently waiting to check out the map!
But take your time though, a complete experience is better then a rushed one!

Don't worry- I'm fixing bugs tonight (as well as working my way through the worst nightmare of a dungeon ever: Turtle Rock) and will get something of a beta out tomorrow or so. Anyone want to test?

to be honest I'll probably be too busy to test anyway till after March 3. You know why After then I'm very much looking forward to running your map though!

Version 0.5.3 beta is out! It has the first two dungeons, and I have tested it. I want some other people to test it and find bugs, as I don't always find them. Afterwards, I'll fix bugs, maybe add in some more content, including the almost-done Death Mountain, and release a final 0.5.4 and put it in the OP and make it public.

Are you using that beta for the magic update for 1.8?
Yeah, but it's not necessary. All that I'm using from it is the Book of Mudora (for the trading sequence, currently unimplemented)

Remember to comment, guys! I want to fix as many bugs as possible.
Bugs. Well. There's one for the tutorial. You messed up the command block for the ZSS Small Key. Sometimes the locked doors don't work. Mobs seem to be... I don't know? Lagging? Slowed down? Skipping frames? Not really sure how to explain this one. Tunic system seems to be slightly bugged. My cap didn't appear initially. The silver key in the tutorial is bugged as well. The game gives it to you and promptly takes it away. I had a LOT of missing texture blocks appear. Mostly terrain. I think it actually was just terrain. That's about it. I think. Forgot to put the Deku Tree barrier blocks don't disappear for the Lens of Truth chest which is also delayed in giving it to you.

1 - the key at the beginning is not the real key. I know the doors are buggy... I'll work on them.
2 - the texture bug occurs PROBABLY because you have "Alternate Blocks" enabled in settings.
I don't get what's going on with repeaters- they just lag so much. I think I know what to do about lag (turn off bombchus, which is a total waste of space) and that is 20+ clock blocks that do nothing ATM.
Sweet! I might be able to help out, do you a Skype or discord? And if it's 1.7.10 I'd gladly give my Legends Of Craft Beta to ya', it can help out with decorations and weapons.
Edit: Nevermind the mod, I just saw that it's 1.8, but I'd still like to help out.

yeah. i would like to help too and animate the items as i do.
Well, I'm not very familiar with commands, redstone... Meh, a bit. I'm pretty good at building environments, structures and such though. I'm also good at giving ideas, if it appeals you.

I know a fair bit about lag. If I have similar issues testing your map with my computer I'll be happy to take a look at the circuits and make some suggestions, but I assume you generally know the basics of lag reduction right?
Just in case here are some pointers:
Repeaters are one of the laggiest redstone components in minecraft. Even when not loaded for the player they tend to trigger chunk updates just because of the kind of component they are, you are better off switching to a purely command block timing circuit using scoreboards imho, and if you don't feel comfortable with those use hopper clocks which will not cause as many chunk updates--I can tell you how to prevent item duplication in those if you end up liking them better. Occasionally using a single repeater or comparator can be useful but not something that will run regularly.
One thing you can do for Bombchus and similar modules is only run one test block constantly looking for bombchus. If they are around, only then do you activate their larger control circuit. This is what I do in space expedition, that and put less urgent checks on a slower once a second clock and distribute the checks evenly over a second. Message me if you want more info on this kind of design.
still looking forward to playing after I am not so busy in a week!

Thanks! I'm going to start working on the Boss Battle tonight. It'll be a bit like Koloktos from Skyward Sword, but a little more to my liking.

Well, dungeon 2 is done (sorry no screenshots). Just need to do the usual bug-fixing... Just maybe a bit more thorough this time. xD

I don't really need help with that right now, but I'll let you know when I do.
Great! I need ideas. I'm fresh out ATM.
i'm confused. is this a mod or a map?
