Added screenshots to the OP. Anyone have any thoughts as to whether I should use the 3D master sword model? I feel kind of bad, seeing as Sam never got back to me saying I could. I also made a custom texture, which you can see in the OP. Any thoughts?
Hmm, so how does this map perform? Often when I play adventure maps I get into some kind of weird CPU lag where the game renders at a normal frame rate, but the CPU can't handle all the commands and causes mobs and functions (such as eating) to slow down immensely despite the game running at peak fps.

that is known as block lag and it means ticks (which update the world around you) are taking longer then they are supposed too. As opposed to fps lurches which are usually caused by rendering the world to the player and can be triggered by teleporting to new areas or having a big render distance.
The best way to improve block lag is to give your MC client more RAM to run JAVA in my experience. I allocate mine double normal since I use maps like this a lot. However, it can often be due to bad creator design. For instance, back in 1.8 if you had more then 63 clocking blocks in the same chunk or were using fill commands that caused lighting updates you would get terrible block lag due to the rapid chunk updates. It was called the "clocking block limit". I'm surprised to hear you always have these problems though. I've played a lot of maps that handled lag well.
As for this map, can't tell you yet! I'm waiting on the next update to try it myself

Well, eating shouldn't be an issue in the next update. Like Dan said, and Optifine works wonders! Also, I don't reccomend playing until the next update, as the current version is terribly buggy.

This is what motivates me: simply knowing somebody wants to play my map.

Well, as an avid Zelda fan who needs something to tide me over until BOTW, I'm certainly interested in playing this myself. I'm not turned off by mods, as long as the finished product is worth it and uses them well.

In dev news, I'm working on a cool custom mob that I think you guys will like...
making a good dungeon takes loads of work and testing. I would say it is definitely worth it in a linear map like this though, as players are actively traveling forward and guaranteed to see these areas.
In open world maps it is a bit harder to balance as you have no idea how OP players will be when they arrive and if they will ever find it at all lol
Rabid...er sorry, Goodra, (keep calling you that) tell me a bit more about your custom mobs. I love designing them myself and was interested in what you had come up with

Yeah, that's why this map is linear and not open-world. xD
It's cool if you want to call me that, bruh. It used to get on my nerves, but I'm totally used to it now.
Well, I'm finally making progress on Dungeon 2 (Help me I need a name for it), and it will have a dungeon map. I am trying to make it a little challenging. I have finally decided what I want to do for the boss battle... It will based off of my new favorite boss battle from the zelda series...

Hint: It's from Skyward Sword.
Oh, oh, oh, let me guess...It's the Imprisoned! Loved that guy! Or maybe, Moldarach?
Kidding, my guess is Koloktos, since that seems to be everyone's favorite boss. My personal favorite is Ghirahim, though, because I find it cool to be fighting another swordsman in the Zelda series, and the battles feel epic, even if they are a bit on the easy side (my record for the first time is 29 seconds).

lol the first thing I thought of when I saw him was this guy:
Well, I'll be done with the water temple any day now. I'm progressing far faster than I thought I would. Then, on to the boss fight. (I have a really cool idea I think you guys are gonna like)
A command heavy vanilla minecraft map.
So something like catacombs? A ghost town could always work and the dungeon could have an abandoned mine theme going for it.
Oh, that's not too rare. xD
That's good! I like that!

Well, makin' lots of progress. Finished up dungeon 1 (still shirking away from the boss), and I'm working on dungeon 2.
lol I feed off of changelogs.
I feel ya. I once tried to make a dungeon and ended up just making it a simple gauntlet with basic enemies because commands turned me off.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to do Zombies (not that it's much more ATM xD)

How about a really desolate military base or a gothic castle...
I was thinking Romanesque catacombs...
