Hey everyone! I'm back with some new exciting news! The team and I have gotten back in the mood to make Minecraft maps, and this time we're working on our biggest project yet! A new Legend of Zelda map! While we haven't come up with a working title just yet, we already have quite a bit of progress done!
As of now, we got about about an hour and a half to two hours of gameplay done (and yes, two hours of gameplay only makes up 15% of this map), including one village, three areas, and two dungeons! The map will feature a variety of locations to explore, an abundance of secrets to find, hidden collectibles, custom items to solve puzzles, and also custom boss battles! This is our biggest project yet!
I have a few screenshots here, showcasing what we got done so far! In case you were wondering, the map is highly recommend to be played with the Chroma Hills-64x 1.8 resource pack! I Hope you guys look forward to this map as we've already spent countless hours getting together as a team to make this! Thanks for reading!

Would you look at that! You've started a new map! My only concern is dungeon designs not being great, but this is 1.8. I'm used to simpler dungeons made in Minecraft. So I should trust that you will surprise me.
But why make it in 1.8 when a Zelda map is just asking to be made for in 1.9? I know the snapshots aren't stable, but I think you'd be restricting yourself a lot with vanilla 1.8.

The server we're using is more stable with 1.8 and so are the plugins
Prehaps 1.9 will make a sequel even better
As for the dungeon designs, I'm designing them similar to what a Zelda dungeon feels like. Each one is unique, with it's own different twist. Each dungeon is filled with combat and puzzles, as well as some interesting custom items to freshen things up!
It's also nice to see you're still sticking around with my maps Jack, you'll be impressed with how much of an improvement this one is over my past ones

You could always build it in 1.8 then do the rest in 1.9

That is true, but there's always the risk of something going wrong. Plus with each snapshot being released we'd have to rethink the whole map to fit new items and mechanics. I personally find it to be easier to keep the map in 1.8, and when 1.9 comes out we could make a sequel or something of the sorts.
Looks AWESOME! I'd be glad to help, but I wanted to know if I could apply for multiple stages/jobs? For example, builder, redstoner.
just asking how are you planing on making the monster / boss fight system ?
is the map based on one of the already existing zelda games ? or is it a bran new one with a story of its own ?
Thanks! We're not really looking for any additional members of our team at the moment, so sorry :/
We're using MCEdit for the bosses, and it's a brand new map/story
Also, we've decided to put the map on hold until 1.9 comes out. We feel like it'll make our life a whole lot easier with the new command blocks n' such.
