I'm working on a map that recreates one of the most famous golf courses in the entire world. I gathered data from satellites and old information relating to tee and hole placement.
I'm no where near finished, but I just finished the 1st hole in a couple days and got all the main mechanics complete. While golfing your character will be unable to move (you can right click your map to tele you out and will be able to move). If you hit your Ender Pearl in a random luckily spot you'll get a small speed boost for a few secs to move around (wind). If you hit your ball into the sand you'll get a really really slow speed on your character and will most likely be unable to see where to exactly aim your ball. If you hit your ball into the water you'll be tele'd out to the side.
This is how the first hole currently looks:
Now here is the real place (The original size of this picture is really huge):
I also used a edited version of this image that's pixelated so I could scale it to Minecraft pretty accurate.
Here is also a really old guide telling the basic placements of the tee/hole:
It's also good because it has a guide on the par for each hole, which surprisingly when scaled down and using a Ender Pearl it's about right (at least for the 1st hole)
