YES... finally... it took me several hours, but level 4, Techletia, is DONE! Special thanks to michaelj54, Hajile001, and MClabs15 for this level.
This level may (does) contain:
- A new pet that takes some fishing to get
- Tons of mobs (but less than there originally were)
- 4 solar panels to reactivate
- Tons of references
- Cars that go about 8 mph
- A big boss at the end
In addition, I've replaced some spells. Dragon Acolyte is becoming less and less team based... in fact, I did my first play test of Techletia as a Dragon Acolyte. Its also probably my favorite class currently. Also, Pull of the Grave has been fixed, for the most part. It will no longer suck enemies down into redstone areas never to be seen again.
If you're planning on skipping to Techletia, I'd recommend the following items...
- 2 full sets of chain mail armor
- a map and snowball, of course
- a stack or two of gold
- 35 ancient tomes
- 2 golden apples (ultimate spells)
Publishing a map is... a very strange feeling. It feels like my map is a massive Rube Goldberg of random command blocks throw together and it somehow, by some strange force in the universe, is staying together.
Just wondering, I got to the boss in Techletia, but I have no idea how to get to the pipes above. Any hints?
Also, on a side note, mage had a few problems. First, the ice barrage and cube of cold seemed to not work at certain times, but work at others (the particles and everything worked, but no visible effect was shown on the mobs targeted). Second, the upgrade from 50 to 60 max mana stops the mana regen for some reason. Love the map, but just wanted to point out a few bugs.

To get up to the pipes, you have to collect the wiggly slime the adds drop. The main slime enemy also drops it sometimes and sometimes drops a chest with 4 slime in it.
I'm not too sure about the ice barrage and max mana, however I do know the cube of cold deals damage based on fall damage, so it doesn't work underwater or on slime. I'll look into the ice barrage thing and max mana. However, should I change the fall damage to wither instead?
For the cube of cold bug, when it doesn't work, it doesn't move the mobs at all. The particles show up just fine, but the mobs don't move at all.
EDIT: just tried the boss again, and I don't think that worked either. All I noticed being dropped were ordinary slime blocks (no special NBT data), and the ground was being destroyed beneath it (I was using cleric's pull of the grave on it, so I think that may have had something to do with it (not much of the ground was being broken, and it was only the slime block layer, but I thought this may be worth mentioning)). Other than that though, nothing is being dropped anywhere in the arena.

Everyone! I have a VERY important announcement! I've updated the map with something really neat. I'll get the boring stuff out of the way first.
-Fixed the glitch with upgrading mage's max mana
-started work on fixing certain upgrade glitches
Now, to fit with Minecraft's new face, I've added a new class in beta currently, the Vistage of Love! I don't have a skill tree for them yet, but I'll be working on it soon!
Spells include:
Love Infusal: The power of love is so strong, you can call on it to massively boost your power for a short time!
Fun Grenade: drops a rose onto the ground and everyone around will experience massive amounts of !!fun!!
Sharing is Caring: Provides buffs to everyone around you and the joy of giving restores your mana! Whats not to love about this spell?
Rumor also has it they have an ultimate love spell that is SO powerful, it can stop all violence in the world forever.
To activate it, start the game as normal, pick any class, but after that, type this command:
/setblock 169 19 26 redstone_wire
/setblock 169 19 29 redstone_wire (my bad)
If it worked, you'll be surrounded in an aura of love. Because this class has no upgrade tree, remember to take a map, snowball, egg, and exp bottle from the alpha tester's room undefined. I hope we can all look forward to the new, friendlier Minecraft!
I tried the command, and it didn't work. Then, I teleported to the coordinates, and found that the z value in the command was 3 blocks off. Here is the working command
/setblock 169 19 29 redstone_wire
PS: Not giving spoilers on the class, but let's just say that once I put in the right command, things got... interesting.

Also, a quick warning, the ultimate love spell didn't work at first, mostly because I was too scared to test it uh... I wanted to give the joy of discovery to others. But, now its fixed.

I spent about 2 hours doing a full playthrough to find bugs. Everyone thinks being a video game tester is awesome, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... playing the same level a lot gets a taaddd boring. Anyway, bug fixes.
Got Pawel to be less enthusiastic about cats. Seriously, he wouldn't shut up about them.
Gave players a little more warning before the night siege starts
Accidentally left a lever on one of the skill points. That's gone now though.
Fixed the ability to exploit a certain mage upgrade to get a fireball machine gun
Fixed that stupid hole near Halo that's been there for ages
Aquarion will actually fight back now.
About the ice barrage and cube of cold not working, I think I found the problem. It wasn't their problem, it was that some of the mobs (near the slimy Grunge co. area) were literally immune to magic for some reason. I'm not sure what's going on, but hopefully I'll be able to fix it. There is a glitch in actual MC that causes command blocks to be unable to target certain entities. I have no clue what causes it or how to fix it.
For the secret class, I'll leave it in. At least for a little while. Maybe it will be a little bonus feature that you can unlock if you beat the game because I don't think having it in is causing any additional lag or making the file any bigger.
Looks awesome. Downloading. Just a note (before I've started playing, just by looking at the pictures), You can change item names and lore to not have italics, not be purple (lore), and to not be white (names) with NBTExplorer. It's useful.

Also, 1.8.3/1.8.4, right?
Yeah, I know that you can do that. Unfortunately, its rather time consuming to do. I am thinking of going through and coloring all the items. And yes, its 1.8.X
New update. I made the intro stronger because the first 5 minutes are the most important. Sure, the whole cut scene thing was nice, but I changed things around to get you into the game as quickly as possible. You now pick your class in game and get to fireballing things in less than 2 minutes. Now to see the cut scene, you can go to the library which is at the end of the tutorial. To get to the level skip place, just pick your class and do /tp @a 224 5 47
Not a bad map, but could use some work! First off, (probably a problem with my computer, but) laggy. Real laggy. No matter how many times I restart the computer. Had to skip tons of parkour because of this. Again, probably my fault, so don't worry about that too much. Next, a good idea would be to give players fully regenerated mana when they respawn. I constantly die because of running out of mana at a boss (also because of my laggy computer! :P). Over and over again, because I still have low/negative mana when I spawn. Third, Celestials don't seem to always spawn when I call them.

I don't know why, but I find going through NBTExplorer and editing everything to be fun. XD

1) I've replaced all the clocks that controlled class spells with new /fill clocks. They seem to lag a little less and react to spells being used about a tick or two faster. I had a big problem with the fireballs breaking because these clocks were literally too fast for the /clear command to trigger the comparitor. So, I replaced those as well.
2) It used to be mana wasn't changed when you died, but then people got stuck at -100 mana dying all the time. I've increased the mana you're given on respawning from 10 to 30.
3) I think what happened was that your pet got stuck in spawn or somewhere. I've changed it now so that summoning a new celestial will kill any you currently have out.
4) Random bug fixes such as if you died in the tutorial after picking your class you'd get stuck.
Sadly, Dropbox doesn't seem to be working for me right now, so all these updates only apply to the MediaFire version for now.
Finally, could you give me the /give command version of those items? If you could, I'd include them.
Honestly, the idea has my full support. I'll be eagerly awaiting the full release.
Actually, I just recounted and the number has EXPLODED! There's now 5,539 command blocks. Of course, that number is somewhat inflated because that includes legacy command blocks that I don't use anymore and should really get around to deleting.

I do the same thing with scoreboards. I add one before a session, and forget about it the next.

Please check out my PvP map based around explosions and fire, FireFight!
Sometimes, I wonder why they call mapmakers mapmakers and not cartographers.
After toying around with "/entitydata @e[r=1] {}" for a bit, I finally found the give command for those items. Almost completely sure you can't implement them without external editing programs, though, so you'll need a bit of knowledge on NBTExplorer and things to put the commands in. Also, first of all, a fireball IS 5 mana, right? (Fairly certain, but not completely sure.)
Mage Fireball:

This was just for decoration, but in case you want to use it...
