Hello everybody! I am currently working on a map based around parkour near the void, properly named, "Space-Age Parkour". Unfortunately, in the second level, I need players to die if they reach a certain block height. If anybody knows a /testfor command to make this work, please respond! I have tried this command: " /effect @a[,4,rm=5] 7 1 100", but that just kills me after a little while. Please help!
Apologies, my dearest Minecrafters! I have just realised putting barrier blocks where they could land would be just as effective. Thank you for taking the time to read, and the map should (hopefully) be released in the near future! Cheers!

Why not just make a fill clock and have a command doing /testfor @a[y=PutNumberHere]. That's if you know they'll be on that y axis. If so, just put a comparator going off it, and then you can make it do whatever you want, like /kill @a, or something. Hope this helps!
