Hello everyone! I am new to the forums, and very recently I have started a project that will bring the horror game "Outlast", developed by Red Barrels, into Minecraft! Keep in mind, ALL of this is being done by hand. There is absolutely no MCEdit, or any other programs being used to assist with this adventure map. If any of you aren't familiar with Outlast:
GAME DESCRIPTION:
Outlast is a psychological horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels Games. It was released on September 4, 2013 for Microsoft Windows and for PlayStation 4 on February 4, 2014.
In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy... until now. Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of the asylum. (Taken from: http://outlast.wikia.com/wiki/Outlast_Wiki)
So far, I've completed the beginning area where you first drive into the game and I've just started work on the asylum. I will post updates weekly so you guys can see my progress. See you guys in the asylum!

Currently working on.... OUTLAST: A COMPLETE RECREATION IN MINECRAFT
Thank you so much! It means a lot! I'll probably post updates twice a week, but if I don't get around to posting two I'll at least upload one. So far with the work I've got done just within the last hour, I've already finished the front of the asylum. I'll post pictures this weekend. Thanks again!

Before I head of to bed, I figured I would post an update of what I got done today. I was pretty busy overall today, but I managed to get this much done. I have a picture of what I've completed, and a picture of the actual asylum from Outlast.
How are you going to incorporate the chase mechanics that this game heavily relies on? Looking good so far!
I typed out a whole response to this days ago but I guess it never posted Basically, I have a friend who is going to help me with this type of stuff. I'll try to explain this and hope it's not confusing. When you get to a point in the game when a character would pursue you, we are going to have pressure plates which will be placed in areas which you absolutely can't avoid(of course they wont be noticeable in the game anyway so you can't try to avoid them), and we're going to have them redstone wired to an iron door which will let the character out. I think my friend is figuring out a way to make AI Character Models appear in the game, and these characters will be able to run as fast as the player. There's probably a lot I'm not explaining but it's coming together nicely so far and I can't wait for this to be finished. While a release date isn't in sight, we can guarantee there will be a teaser trailer on the night of Halloween. We'll see you in the Asylum!

Chase mechanics is very easy to make. You need a zombie as a monster, if you know how to command then you need to spawn it with speed so zombies
can chase you faster. This is very simple, we made a map like outlast and the chasing scene is successful with this mechanism. Happy to help

Wow thank you! Your help will definitely be useful. I'll message you when I get to the first chase sequence in the game for help. Thanks again!
Hello everyone! I've gotten quite a lot done since last week. To start off, I'm about 75% done with constructing the entire front of the asylum, and by this I mean the parts you can see from the front, rather than the whole structure being completed. I hope to start work inside the asylum by next week. There's a picture attached showing you guys what I have completed so far. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but I've just about completed the right side where there's a locked gate, I just need to finished constructing some walls. Thank you guys for the continued support, and I'll post another update next week!
You're welcome, fellow mapmaker. If you have a friend that knows lots of things about redstone or commands, i'm definitely sure that your map will be successful than ever, but to remind you, those commands can corrupt your game sometimes... So be careful.
