Hello, my name is black shadow (or dash, or BSM, whichever), and welcome to my thread. This is a development thread for a RFW style map currently in development. A more visually appealing thread will be created in the main "Maps" area when it is done, so no download link here.
First point - will the map be any good? Deside for yourself from these teaser images of the first area:
The map will be a simple two lane affair, much like Vechs' RFW maps you can find on his thread. Of cource, those were made a fair while ago, so I aim to make a map which uses newer blocks and some custom items for a more 'up to date' map.
As to why this thread is here - I need alpha testers. Edit: The Alpha test is finished! Thanks to everyone who helped :3.
Current Version: Alpha V0.1.1
Changelog:
Added: More Commandblock magic at spawn.
Spawn effects (satuation, mining fatiage, etc.) which turn off automatically but can also be manually controlled.
Randomised and manual methods of allocating players to teams.
Changed: Streamlined the nether star redstone. This also has the side effect of making it impossable to exploit.
Removed the 'Tank Buster' item, adding the inferior 'Tank Breaker' in it's place.
Made the item 'Marksman's Bow' much rarer.
Made basic starting armor much stronger VS projectiles (though it may now be too strong...).
Fixed: Derped directional signs.
Decoration items that didn't mirror correctly.
A chest present in blue's lane but not in red's.
Added a missing spawner.
Made perma-night work correctly.
Removed: Prevented slimes from spawning in lower portion of the map (but no Kac, you cannot have a refund.).
As to why this thread is here - I need alpha testers. I will be hosting an alpha test of the map on my server: (185.28.188.139:49352) on Friday 16th August from 8:00pm GMT. The server is used for other things and so is whitelisted. If you are chosen to take part then you will be temporaraly added to the whitelist and removed after the event finishes.
So it's at Friday, August 16th, 2019 at 8:00pm GMT or...? Somehow, I think you may have the wrong date there. Anyway, I should be there (assuming you mean the 22nd).

@rexxefa 8pm GMT is a good time for people living in GMT or EST time zones, which are two of the most populated ones. Whatever time zone I pick, there will always be those who can't make it. I'll have to do something at a time more suitable for you at some point though . Sorry.

@rexxefa 8pm GMT is a good time for people living in GMT or EST time zones, which are two of the most populated ones. Whatever time zone I pick, there will always be those who can't make it. I'll have to do something at a time more suitable for you at some point though . Sorry.
The map sure looks interesting, I'll try to show up to give you some feedback for the tests, we might be able to pool some other guys from the RMCT community if you need some more testers when the date does come.
@Jorcooly Thanks! I'm sure that help form the RMCT community would prove very helpful, especally when I need a greater number of people for beta testing. If you wish to take part or just turn up to look at the map then that would be cool, but I'll need your IGN. I'm assuming it's Jorcooly?
@ski_trip42 Hmmm... The very low number of posts concerns me a little. Do you have an account on the RMCT forum I could look over? If I do chose you to take part, then I'll need your IGN too of course.
@ski_trip42 Accepted for the alpha test. (Read over the thing on standardising maps and saw your point on water drops. I hadn't considered using TP rather then a water drop... I guess you've helped me improve the map already. :3) You'll be added to the whitelist a couple hours before the match starts.
I've played many of Vechs' CTM maps, but I've been a member of RMCT for about 6-8 months now, and I have quite a bit of experience with RFW! Maybe not as much as ski_trip, but I do have some xP!

I have to collect feedback and make changes, but I should be releasing a Beta version of the map somepoint shortly after 1.8's release - it'll be public, so you will be able to download and play the map for yourself.

Added a fancy changelog to the main post. I've also thought up a WIP title for the map - The Cindering Path. Any thoughts? I'm not very good at coming up with orginal names for things.
I managed to get all the changes done much quicker then I expected. Provided that 1.8 doesn't mess things up, I should be able to get a beta version out fairly shortly.
