Hey everyone, this is the official thread for my WIP map named "Hostile Woodlands", but the name is subject to change. This is my first map, and I tend to take my time and do a good job on it. My goal with this map is to provide a great player experience and 'show off' some new gameplay elements I've come up with. The map is still in development, an will be for a while since it is very new. I will be posting updates regularly on this thread, so stick around if you like what you see! Suggestions are always welcome and encouraged!
Development Status - Indev_v1.02
I am currently working on:
- Spawner schematics for Tier 0 - 3 mobs
- Balancing the custom mobs
- The spawn area of the map
- Custom Concepts
I plan on working on (in the near future):
- Spawner schematics for Tier 4 - 6 mobs
- Balancing the map structure and sequences
- Tier 1-3 Dungeons
- CTM element
The map will be open-world, and for the most part it will be a forest and plains theme. I plan on making the map based off of a tier system, making resource gathering unique. Instead of traditionally gather resources, my intent is for players to farm mobs for resources. Another advantage of structuring the map like this, is that if I player dies a lot on a higher tier area, they can always go back and get more equipment from earlier dungeons.
In this map, you will have to work your way up to the harder dungeons. You will start with some basic supplies and from there you will need to take out mobs for better gear and armor scraps. This also insures that if a player tries to sequence skip, they will have very hard time. This map will also keep track of certain stats and achievements and you will be rewarded accordingly (Ex: at 1000 kills you get a rare item, ect.)

Tier 0 Mobs (T0Ms) are the mobs that players will encounter in the first few areas/dungeons of the map; T0Ms also include naturally spawned mobs. T0Ms are
also a good way for a player to gather basic resources without the traditional 'randomized' loot chests.
Tier 1 Mobs (T1Ms) are usually in leather armor, but sometimes seen in the nude. The purpose of these mobs are to provide basic gear to players
who might encounter trouble and die in harder parts on the maps. T1Ms have the highest armor/weapons drop rate out of all the tiered mobs, making them good to
farm early on.
Tier 2 Mobs (T2Ms) will be the player's first encounters with highly customized mobs. T2Ms wear leather armor, sometimes enchanted, and are seen in lower-middle
dungeons. T2Ms are also used as minions to T3 Bosses. T2Ms are also the first mobs in the game that drop "Rare Shards", these shards are used as high level currency or can be converted into gems.
Tier 3 Mobs (T3Ms) add a lot of difficult mobs into the mix. T3Ms are the mid level mobs, ranging everywhere from zombies, to wither skeletons, to witches. These mobs tend to drop lots of custom potions and decent food. These mobs also have fairly decent chain and gold armor drop rate which can be farmed by the player to conquer more intense dungeons.
Tier 4 Mobs (T4Ms) are the mobs where most people might start to struggle. Some T4 dungeons will have pigmen swarms that will ruin anyone's day, so make sure you go prepared. These mobs wear mainly iron armor; always enchanted. T4Ms will usually be coated in a lot of potion effects which might make them harder to kill fo some players, but don't get discouraged yet, these mobs are well balanced and you should be able to take them out.
Tier 5 Mobs (T5Ms) are some of the last mobs you will encounter in the entire map. These mobs are very difficult to kill, and if you have accumulated enough gear through out the map, you should have a good time fighting these mobs. On the up side, the spawners for these mobs are mainly in plain sight so they can be easily disabled. These mobs also have a high drop rate for "Rare Shards" which will come in handy when fighting the last dungeon.
Tier 6 Mobs (T6Ms) will always be wearing diamond armor 'juiced out' with enchantments and potion effects. These mobs are only found in the last room of the last dungeon, and in the auxillary dungeon.
Most mobs have food and currency drops, and mobs found early on also drop armor scraps (leather, ect.)
Food: (Disclaimer: Not all mobs drop food, those mobs are not factored into the drop rates)
Tier 0 Mobs: Carrots (1-3) - 10-30% Drop rate
Tier 1 Mobs: Bread (1-3) - 20-30% Drop rate
Tier 2 Mobs: Baked Potato (2-5) - 25% Drop rate
Tier 3 Mobs: Fried Chicken (3-5) - 10-40% Drop rate
Tier 4 Mobs: Pumpkin pie (5) - 20% Drop rate
Tier 5 Mobs: Steak (1-15) - 10%-60% Drop rate
