Hi everyone, I am currently in the process of starting a map, but, frankly, it's not going so well. Im somewhat good with command blocks and can build a little, but the scale and complexity of this map are beyond me.
This is the idea:
For those of you who know the server Wynncraft, a MMORPG style minecraft server, it is similar to that, but it is more based on guilds and dungeons, with very little quests. For those of you who don't, just hear me out. (Not sure about the name yet so i decided to call it...) Dungeon Quest is a RPG style, open world map that your main objective is to gain "Honor Points." To do so you can: kill any type of monster (not mob) to get very little points, you can complete quests (if we end up making them), clear dungeons (more on that soon), and so on. The combat will be no-selected class class-based, meaning that you don't choose an official class from a few options, you only choose what weapons, items, and armor that fit your play style. There are no levels, you don't level up, it's all based on how powerful your gear is, how many "Honor Points" you have, and money.
Dungeons:
Dungeons are medium to large structures or caves or anything of the sort that are loaded with enemies, puzzles, and a boss. After you beat the boss, a chest will appear with a variety of different weapons and armor. There are two types of dungeons, SOLO and GUILD/PARTY. SOLO dungeons are dungeons that you could beat alone, obviously. GUILD or PARTY dungeons would be dungeons that you would need multiple people, at least three, to beat. There will be a few, up to 10, tiers of dungeon, to enter higher tier dungeons, a player must have enough "Honor Points."
Guilds:
There are three different guilds that you can choose to join once you get to the tier 3 dungeons (Names/Colors not decided). Only guild mates can enter guild dungeons. Guild mates cannot attack each other, and nobody can attack anybody inside of cities. Outside of cities, PvP is completely enabled between guilds (Friendly fire is off, PVP is off in cities). Eventually maybe a guild hall/territory of some sort.
Parties:
Parties are a group of up to 10 people who decided NOT to join a guild... yet... but still want to do GUILD/PARTY dungeons.
Cities:
Obviously, they are cities that have shops that sell potions, armor, weapons, food, etc... I plan on having quite a few cities.
Sub Classes:
Sub Classes would be smaller skills, such as blacksmithing, woodworking, etc... that a player would have to slowly get better at to make more powerful/valuable items.
Extra:
Super Bosses:
These are bosses that will spawn every once in a long while, they are SUPER powerful bosses that would require upwards of eight people to kill. (If these could be custom armor stand mobs that would be great) They would drop very powerful stuff and a lot of money. They spawn near cities.
World Bosses:
These are the most (possibly 2nd) powerful beings in the game. These world bosses would spawn throughout the world every once in a VERY LONG while. They would require upwards of twenty people to kill. These beings would drop LEGENDARY gear.
Special Events?:
Random events that occur, such as a zombie raid on a city, a corruption of the undead that needs to be killed, a KING ZOMBIE that gathers a massive army of monsters and raids cities who gets harder the longer he lives, if he doesn't die before he get's crowned, etc..
I am FULLY open to new ideas, concepts, and mechanic changes. I just need some, no, A LOT of help with everything. If it is a possibility that this could become a server in the future then that would be amazing. I have realms, so this would be very easy to get everyone in the same world.
