I am seeking a worldpainter for a custom world. This world will be large, about 8000 by 8000 to 10,000 by 10,000 with no restriction on height. You will have nearly carte blanche over the biomes and such. Here's where the "nearly" part comes in.
There are two distinct areas that are a requirement for this map: The Valley and The Badlands.
The Valley is supposed to be my world's equivalent of Silicon Valley, but with a few twists...
The valley should be large enough to have a large college-like campus at one end, a large city built into the cliffs at the opposite end, and ample space in-between for the ruins of what is effectively Silicon Valley.
Biome: Mostly grassy plains and woodlands.
Cliffs: Should be stone cliffs extending into snowy, inhospitable mountain tops. They should not impede travel by climbing over them (or rather, I don't care if they do or not), but they should be thick enough to where going over the top does not seem like a good idea without proper gear.
Car Tunnel: There will be a car tunnel in the Eastern wall. If you want to create a cave for this, go for it, but my build team knows how to tunnel.
Location: The location of the Valley should be on the far Western edge of the continent. The Western ocean should not be far from this location.
The Badlands is the area around the Valley
This is where you start having more artistic freedoms...
Should be a mixture of nearly all biomes (except the shroom biome. We'll build one manually if we decide we need one.)
Should be a mixture of terrains from mountains to plains
Custom trees, rocks, etc. are encouraged, especially when used in a way that encourages custom and unique structures.
Swamp biomes should have a mixture of small and large trees - the kind you can build a home in.
You needn't worry about resource distribution. This world will be used for building player cities, camps, etc. for roleplay purposes
Caves are allowed and encouraged. However, please do not allow caves to connect the Valley and the Badlands.
The edge of the world is allowed to be land in some cases. I will be using a world border to prevent players from leaving the playable space.
Despite The Valley being an equivalent for Silicon Valley, the land inside the valley and outside (in the Badlands) does not and should not match real world topography. This is an alternate universe Earth and should not resemble our own in regards to the layout of the land.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask them below. If they're something important that I forgot, I'll edit this thread. If you think you're interested, you may contact me in the following ways:
