I'm not having a good time right now, that is why I haven't joined any of the waves of this jam. I'm inspired to work on something but I don't have any motivation to make a map, it is weird I know.
Maybe I could join the third wave and make something decent just to advance a little bit with the thematic.
-I liked the backstory. It was a nice idea and I liked how it gave purpose to what I was doing.
-I also enjoyed the visuals of the map. There was a good use of blocks to create texture as well as add challenge. Structures were also designed well and added atmosphere to the areas
-The Sadness and the Anger I enjoyed. I felt they were pretty well balanced in terms of loot and enemies present. The area right in front of the Red wool could have been unbalanced in terms of amount of enemies, but I thankfully found a fire resist potion which negated most of the damage I would have taken.
The Ok:
-The Happy was a little too easy. I think some natural spawns or a small number of spawners along the beach area would have made it more interesting. I was able to build a boat and just sail to the wool and all the islands with loot. The enderpearls in one of the chests also made it easy to get from the wool to safety.
- There was no way out of the Sadness wool area without me pillaring out. A teleporter would have been nice, preferably right where you jump down so people can leave an return at will.
The Bad:
-The Gross was very unbalanced. The speed of the spiders was way too high, and if more than one spider spawned from a spawned, I most likely died. There were too many spawners and the poison "cure" never actually worked for me, so I spent a lot of time fighting spiders poisoned. My suggestion for the area would be to either keep the poison mechanic or have fast (but not that fast) spiders, but not both. The path to the wool once you climbed down the later was also hard to spot, specifically I didn't realize the path looped around, I thought the bridge was to get to the chest.
Overall, other than the Gross, I enjoyed the map. Here are my victory screenshots:
I like my feedback! the gross was supposed to be the hardest area of the map! i sorta wanted the area to feel a little like lush ruins! lush ruins had a big difficulty increase! so i made this area have a difficulty increase! the spiders don't actually have speed! yes the ladder down to were the memory was, was a really difficult spot in that area! as long as you play smart i think you can get through it!! yes i think there might be a little too much spiders in that area! but its not impossible! The happy memory was a bit too easy... but i thought the skeleton spawners would of made it harder! i didn't think of the player using a boat in that area! nice thinking! I haven't actually played the last 2 areas! yet! but i plan too today! thanks for advice!
The Sky! It Be Shattered! (The title drives my OCD crazy.)
This map is fun for the most part. The aesthetics and gameplay were great, the amount of command block trickery going on is crazy, and there was a simple teleportation system that worked well. The only problem I had with the map was that I had to grind mobs a lot due to the ticket system requiring loads of mob drops. Other than that, I thought the map was great.
Elysium:
This map was amazing. It felt like an open-world map similar to Infernal Skies except much better. I love how the loot was organized and the aesthetics were fantastic! Great job. 10/10 IGN
Trinity Skies:
This map was also fantastic! Although I never died once, the map was pretty challenging. There wasn't any "buildings", but I loved how he made the land look like nature that would belong to a fantasy world. The only problem I had with the map was that I had difficulty finding the third dungeon's entrance. It was hidden obscured behind the mountains, so it was really hard to find. Great map though!
In case you are wondering why the spiders move much faster in 1.8 when you play a map designed for 1.7 or earlier, it's because the mapmaker very likely used AllUWant to create the spiders. 1.7 reads speed in a different way, compared with 1.8, when it comes to spiders. Therefore, a bug in AllUWant which relates to custom spiders' speed is undetected in 1.7, but rears its ugly head in 1.8 Same goes for silverfish, for some reason.
i didn't use alluwant.... i use mcedit sethbling filters.....
-Overall I enjoyed the map. I felt it was well constructed and had an interesting use of command blocks and custom mobs.
-My only complaint however, was while I thought the ticket buying mechanic was interesting, it got a little grindy when I needed to return to a location. Lowering the costs would have kept the momentum of the map a lot better while still keeping the same effect.
-On the other hand, I enjoyed the change in play style by forcing myself to save most of the spawners. I realized later in the map that I didnt need to keep all of them, but it was an interesting change of pace from my normal playstyle.

So, I was supposed to take part in the JAM last weekend, but due to a post I made that contained what mods deemed to be profanity, I was banned from posting on the forums until the 11th. Since I couldn't post, I could neither announce my start of the JAM nor show my progress. As such, I decided to not partake. Also, since I couldn't post, I lost interest in the forums and forgot to check back until just now.
So, although I doubt I'll be able to make anything out of it, I'll take my attempts at making the map this weekend instead. My map will be Gardens of Heaven, and will feature four islands connected by chains, with the themes of nature and gardens. I'll post updates as soon as I have something to show for it.

with some worldpainter, mcedit and voxelsniper i made myself a base for the terrain. now to make structures asap. building speed on steroids right now.
This map was really good! Unlike what some people said, I think this map is pretty easy. Since I had loads of diamond gear and healing items when I went into the three spike-ball things, I just breezed right through the dungeons with ease. The towers that had the spawner you can break for more health were usually pretty easy to take down. It was still a bit challenging at the start though. Not having any equipment when you run into cave spiders is a bit rough.
The Phantasm:
This map's aesthetics are outstanding. Unfortunately, the gameplay isn't outstanding. This map was quite unbalanced, like Tikaro said. In the first area when all you have is a leather tunic and stone tools, you have to fight zombies, skeletons, BLAZES, and GHASTS. That's a bit ridiculous. The second area was a bit nicer since you had better equipment, but it was still too difficult. For the third area, I used the only iron that was in the map to make armor. That made the third area pretty easy, but if I fell into the void, I wouldn't have any backup gear to use. I would be stuck with stone tools and no armor.
Cloudhome:
This map reminded me of old Vechs maps. There was some sort of nostalgic feeling to it and I like that. Anyways, this map was good, but it was really short (I finished it in 20 minutes or so) and easy.
After thinking about it for a while, I decided I'm not participating in Wave 3. Mainly because I'll be busy tomorrow. Instead of participating on this jam I will make an island map just for fun and for practic a little bit (I have not made anything mapmaking-related in over a month or more).
(We were allowed to start yet? Because I did at about noon, and if not, than I think I may have broken some rules...)
Just finished some hardcore speed work creating two of the three BASIC island themes. Ones more of a icy, pillar-ed area, and the other is a gigantic forest. Excited to start adding more content and start some dungeons!
Will attach images for now, does anyone know the easiest way to have images built into the page? The only way I can do it is if I get the image from another website. Like, what if I just wanna use a picture in my files, but I want it in my post (as opposed to underneath it...)

What version was I supposed to play in? I played in 1.8.8 and all of the potion spiders moved like they were 5 times faster than normal. XP
