Paradise of Monsters #2 - Message for the King - for Strawberry Jam 7
This map is really impressively made considering that it was built in so little time. The gear was distributed well, the aesthetics were decent, and there weren't any obvious brush strokes. TBH, the only problem I had during the entire map was that there was a little bit too much mob spam. Also, I can't for the dear life of me, find the third proof. I looked all around the third area, but couldn't find it. If you could send me a PM as to where the wool is, it would be highly appreciated. Anyways, here's my sort-of victory picture:
I'll play the rest of the wave 1 jam maps tomorrow, probably starting with Extrimeman's map.
I didn't mean building as in constructs and terraforming. Let's say I want to make a commandblock that teleports the player to a certain location unless they have a certain item in their inventory. Am I allowed to do research on how to make this outside those 72 hours, or do I have to make everything up from scratch during that period? Another good example would be for creating monsters. Am I allowed to use MCStacker to make monsters, balance test them, and then save the commands for easy access outside those 72 hours, or do I have to perform stuff like that within the timelimit as well?
I can understand not working on the actual map outside this period, but I am fairly sure most of us will draw up an idea on paper, brainstorm around it, and maybe try to implement something or other that we thought up at least a while before we learned of this jam. Anyways, I'm almost 100% certain I will join for wave two, but it depends on if my guest will come visit me that weekend or the weekend after :-P

Ty's was fun, the second zone was a bit obnoxious with the fast entities, so I cheesed it. Probably where the other 4 emeralds were. Last area was a bit of a pain too, I wasn't given enough arrows to kill flying mobs like blazes. Overall 2 deaths, and a good conquered jam map. GG Ty!
Orioncoko your map is beautiful. A bit on the easy side, however the final area kept me on my toes. I like the style of play, and I appreciate the fact that you stayed away from using to much void on the fun path. Nicely balanced, no mob spam, I had a lot of fun here too. (note: I found an empty wool box in the final zone. I assume that should be filled with the wool? If its not that I have no clue where the final objective is...) Overall 0 deaths, and a good conquered jam map. GG Orion!

Thanks for playing! I realized after I "published" my map, that I should have had a chest before the third area with arrows and blocks in it. The Exploding Tower was a place I sort of rushed to make, and I didn't test it much, so that could explain the obnoxious mobs. I might make an balanced, and updated version of my map on my main CTM Horrible Lands forum, but IDK, I'm a bit lazy.
EDIT: Was there really only 4 entries for this jam?(Besides Krose's map. Finish your map in time guy!) Hopefully, the other waves will have more people!
I was playing through Mortality Skies, but I stopped playing and sort of gave up for this reason:
First of all, I died with all the torches and glowstone so there was no way of getting light sources ever again. That being said, I had almost no gear and no weapons when I went into this area:
The insane amount of natural mobs that spawned just completely demolished me. Just look at the tower. You can see holes in it that were formed by dozens of creepers. Anyways, I wish I could play this map, but it was just too much for me. (I did a fly-through of the other areas. The aesthetics are nice, but it was just too unbalanced, or RNG was being mean to me. Sorry NBTrainor, if this sounds rude. I really did want to finish your map!)

Yeah when I playtested the map this happened to me too. I was kinda rushing the map out (I mean I was the last person to release mine this wave). I'm going to release an update version with hopefully more honeypots and if that doesn't work maybe just no natural spawns at all

It seems like a lot of people are planning to join wave 2, according to people responding to Kiaser_2's above comment anyway
Holy crap. Orion's map(minus the final wool :P) is amazing. I'm blown away. The first area is perfectly balanced, is huge, detailed, has custom mobs, loot, giant area and would easily fit in a full map. The second area is still spectacular, but a bit less balanced. Last area was rushed, so I can't really say much. But, you should be happy, orion. Great, great map.
Your new map better be at this caliber, b/c if it is, it'll be up there in the top CTMs. (your first map was pretty meh)
just curious.... who is planning to join wave 2??? i know i am!!!
i may.. even though I haven't mapmaked for a few months...
...and I will probably only have one day to work on it, and not even the whole day. But I'll try
Hopefully, the people actually remember to put my map up on the list. I've made 3 jam maps and whoever compiled the maps just chose not to include mine...
I don't know though, because the one map I chose to actually put full effort into got chunk errored and half the map got destroyed. Dunno if I can fall for that again.

So with the waves thing if we, say gave up (oops), would it be allowed to start over and try again in another wave because I have some new ideas for Wave 2
You would have to start from scratch. But your welcome to it. I believe it was rock who said he was going to do that as well.
. . .
I may join wave two instead of three. Sorta because I'm inpatient, but mainly because I will be more busy on wave three. Also I am so pumped for the next wave of maps! Can't wait to play em!
All building has to be done within the 72 hours.

I'm probably going to join wave 2 also, depending on how much time I have!

I just finished Ty's and Orion's maps!

Yeah, I noticed Kaiser_2's comment. I was just surprised at how little maps were made during wave 1.
Hello CTM Community. <3
Well rock, browneye, and krose all started on maps for wave 1 but didn't finish. Maybe its the theme but a lot of people had to drop out of wave 1.

Seing as I didn't get any response to my last question, I'll just take the safe before the unsafe, and not do any research before the 8th, then :-)

In the rules, it does make mention of the fact you can make command block, spawner, and loot schematics beforehand
So with the waves thing if we, say gave up (oops), would it be allowed to start over and try again in another wave because I have some new ideas for Wave 2
