I like the freezing concept, But it doesn't fit in this map. I constantly kept having to run back through areas to warm back up and then it took awhile for me to get warmed up, The freezing concept would work better for an open world map. I felt it was bad to give out wood around all those spawners because it took me so long to actually get it because I had no way to stop the spawners from spawning. In second dungeon you only gave out one respiration helmet so when I died it was gone along with all my torches so I had to restart the map. You need to give out way more resources because if you die once and your stuff despawns then you have to start the whole map over again. Aesthetics look pretty good. Overall it was an okay map but more resources need to be given out and maybe remove the freezing concept, It's a good concept but not for this map.
I didn't even know what was going on in this map, Theres no starting signs or area, You just kind of jump into it. All the areas were impossible, The mushroom place had a ridiculous amount of spawners I instantly got swarmed by them. The second area was actually kind of easy I just walked to the end, The TNT didn't even do anything and the finale area I walked in for 4 seconds and had like 50 creepers chasing me, It's great they die with one shot but theres so many its not even fun. Aesthetics were poor except for the spawn area which wasn't even an area. The constant ghast screams forced me to turn off the sounds which I hate doing in maps because you might miss TNT getting ignited and get blown up. Also when I died I spawned outside of the map.
Here's a mediafire link. I use google drive because all of Trainwreck's stuff is connected to our Gmail account. I'll provide both from now on.
Sketch are you going to review the maps like last jam?
Probably not. Making my map this time really tired me out, and I'd like to be able to just play through the maps without worrying about reviewing them.
On a different note, thanks everyone for the positive comments. And Tikaro, that picture is great!

That makes me depressed, I really wanted to hear other opinions on peoples maps.
Oh man, such great maps are featuring this jam! Can't wait to play them all after finishing my own one, I will post my map anyway, although, propably, it won't be a legitemetely made map for a jam, but I hope someone will try it. Joining all you, guys, want to say, that Sketch is just genius. All in all, have you made it in 2 or 3 days? BTW, this area in your last screenie, man, I have almost the same area in terms of a theme and color choice, you'll see in my map, once it balanced and published here ( If it happens ) . Just to state, I made the area back on Friday or Saturday, so no copying from me. Well, it's all, I'm gone to finish my map. Next time we will have to increase building period by a bit. Can't imagine the first 48-hour jam.
I'm not really one for reviewing, but All In A Nutshell was so much fun, I have to say something.
First off, aesthetics are great. My favorite area, aesthetic-wise, was probably Sodden Scaffolds.
The map was balanced enough, considering the time limit. Beginning areas were fairly easy, ending areas were fairly hard.
There was plenty of custom loot and spawners, which made the map much more interesting and challenging. Favorite custom monster was probably the "Suicide Bomber" in the Rubble to Ash area.
IMO, the best area, gameplay-wise was probably Rubble to Ash. The monsters were tough, and the loot was worth it. Also, those ghast spawners stood no chance against my improvised TNT cannons.
I can't really think of anything negative to say... I'll leave that to the rest of you guys. ;P
In conclusion,
I don't like to give number ratings, so all I will say is that I had barrels of fun playing it, and would recommend that all of you play it. Thanks for the entry, Sketch, now go finish The Painter.
Welp. time to play the maps from the jam now. Hope they'll all be great.
Also, new forum design!

Too bad I missed it - but time zones are a thing, and I was sleeping while you were streaming.
I think I'm going to be in the Mapmaking zone for a while: Watching another player play my map for the first time was hilarious.
"Well, look like there isn't a bonfire up here! - Literally right next to the Bonfire." *Cries*
"Oh, maybe I should have used the Instant Health IV Potion!" *xhen crys evry tim*
About the diamond block:
(There are 5 ores in the structure thingy going up, 2-3 in the first Wool Box area, and about 5 in the bottom of Artic Spirals.) Aw, you.
About the potion spawners - They're supposed to spawn Guardians with a Blindness potion on top. Maybe you used a snapshot with no guardians?
The Spawn Eggs were for the Guardians. Apparently Squids have priority over you, so you were supposed to use them to distract the Guardians while breaking the spawners! C:
Mumble mumble. Your original post told me to use snapshot 14w21b which is the version I used. Apparently guardians weren't introduced until the close to latest one.
That's a mistake on your part not mine, but I see you've already taken the liberty to edit so the version says: Whatever Version Guardians are in
No way I was scanning the walls for diamond ore until I found all 9. That would not have been fun. Glad I skipped out on the diamond block.
Yeah, I felt pretty dumb that I missed the bonfire by the wool, but maybe that's just a note to make it more noticeable for oblivious nerds like me.
Anyways, despite the issues I thought the concept was super cool and the layout of the map was beautiful and fun to play.
PS. This new MC Forums design makes my Profile picture WAY To small. URG >:(
Also, on a said note, WHAT THE HECK MC FORUMS?! I LOVED THE OLD LAYOUT WHY U CHANGE IT?!
Idk if everyone's been updated yet, but the layout of the forums is all weird for me and i currently hate it to death
There are currently mixed reactions about the new forums. I don't mind, but I still prefer the old as I got used to it and it was easy to handle. But just remember that it's for the best.
There seems to be a lack of arrows compared to the amount of blaze, skelly, and ghast spawners in All In A Nutshell. I have a very systematic playstyle, so I'm presented with a problem. While I could just bridge to the wool, I want to get the loot that is in the rest of the area. May I be allowed to hack myself a stack of arrows and comply with you?

Go ahead. I've noticed while watching other people play that I didn't give out enough arrows, so if/when I update the map that will be something I change.
