Looks nice. That freezing mechanic sounds really cool.

Okay... I don't know where the line is that separates minimaps from full-size maps, but I think I'm pretty close to crossing it at this point. If there's one thing I've learned over this weekend, it's that I can mapmake VERY quickly if I focus. Holy cow. I'm still having a tough time wrapping my head around how much I've made in the past two days.
I'm willing to bet money that people will accuse me of starting construction early when I release this thing, and if you do, I completely understand.

Wow this map looks so cool! keep up the good work!
Ooh. I like the gimmick. I've actually wanted to do something similar before... basically, there would be pieces of "thermic armor", and your "temperature" goes down more slowly the more pieces of "thermic armor" you're wearing.
...actually, if you feel like taking your map and improving it post-Jam (like many other people have done - it just doesn't count as the official version of the Jam map), I give you full permission to use my idea to modify your map.
Meanwhile, I've just about finished my second area, and I may end up having to do something similar to what you've done with the diamond block.

Oh geez more maps... and I need to finish two areas in one day, in probably 6-7 hours because of irl. 12 hours left.
Also, mind if I trademark the Helpean Stickfor future maps?
And I have lore.

So, yesterday I had some IRL problems and I pretty much lost a whole day of jam.
Before the Jam started I was planning on making 3 areas, but since I missed a whole day of jam I only had the time to make 2.
Since my map needs 3 objectives to be admited in the jam, I added a Diamond Block to the monument. You can find the diamonds in the areas, they're not hidden on anything.
I also feel like I've spent WAY too much time on the first area.
I feel like the first area is a very good area, but the second one.. is meh.
You can consider this map as a proof of concept for the main mechanic in the map, the Freezing mechanic.
VERSION: Whatevs with guardians
A WINTER'S TALE
A couple of words about the Freezing mechanic:
This map is based around the freezing mechanic. There is a scoreboard on your sidebar called Temperature. Your temperature goes down every 4-5 seconds by 1. If your temperature reaches level 0 you're going to get a slowness and wither effect (Simulation of the slow death) until you can find a way to bring your Temperature back up. In the map you can find 2 bonfires. The bonfires quickly give you Temperature point back, to a maximum of 38/39. If you're temperature goes over 39, you're going to get a small Regeneration effect.
Great concept!

Even though my previous map will take too long to submit for the jam seeing as I spent the last two days just working on the weather gimmick (it's actually really cool, trust me), I still want to submit something for the jam. So, I decided that if Sketch can make 13 full areas in 3 days, I can make two small ones in one day. Let's see if this can actually happen. The new theme is antonyms collide (totally legit "a" theme).

I'm nearing the end... Full steam ahead on the 3rd wool area. I'm cutting out the "interlude" that was supposed to trigger when you placed two of the three wools, though. Which is a shame, because it used one of my favorite characters from the Pantheon/TR lore. Maybe I can incorporate it into the third wool area somehow... Hmm...
Anyway, about half of one wool to go, and then the "finale". So excited.
(In MCEdit because I can't get a good look at it ingame. Still gotta place spawners and stuff.)

Here I am with another cool map for this jam. Even though the original theme doesn't have anything to do with snow/ice, I decided to make it a bit harder for myself and went with a cold snowy style for the environment. Yeah, I got a little bit carried away with the first two areas, which is why the third one is pretty short and overall kinda meh. Yet, I'm still happy with the result. Also, I definitely could have done a better job with these screenshots, but oh well. :\
Next I'll place all the loot, and after that I'll make five or six custom mobs and place spawners. There's no way I'm going to have time to test, but I think it'll be worth it.
Edit: I'm going to go ahead and assume that I can use my custom named items, as I consider them as part of my own mapmaking toolkit.
Alright I'm pretty sure I've finished. So balancing was an issue, but I feel like I did the best I could in that aspect. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the outcome, though I probably could've done better. First screenshot is definitely my favorite. And I wonder how you did that Freezing mechanic. *thinks*

I swear to god, if you manage to finish this today, I will build you a monument and accept you as a God of Time Management in some pantheon.
nah, he just started early

Well. I don't have much to say about this but....
