no, that was discussed, but never officially decided upon.
additionally i think a cool theme could be Atlantian Constructs, maps themed around water in some way, shape, or form.
That's just my two cents. I have an idea for it either way.
And as a theme suggestion of my own, how about "Afterlife"? It could focus on heaven and/or hell themed areas.

And for my theme suggestion, I would suggest the theme "not what it seems". Sounds complicated, I know.
For example, the map will take place in some candy land. Sweet, nice, and peaceful. But in a dungeon underneath this candy land there would be an underground civilization for the slaves that works at the candy land and people don't know about it.
Probably not the best theme for CTM map, but I'm curious of what people will make from it.
I'm currently just collecting ideas (and the I'll add in a few of my own) for themes which I will then put into a poll a few days before the jam. So we will eventually vote on these (probably not for a week (or two) though.)

I think you are looking at one of my posts from right before the last jam... just look at what is on the OP for information (or what I've posted recently (as in dates in the month of august)) anything important will be posted in the OP.
As for the theme being posted two days before the jam. That is when I am planning to post the poll and the message on the CTM Community thread. Also it is totally acceptable to do Friday or Monday instead. I would prefer if possible that you use the saturday and sunday but it is better to bend the rules a little and still participate than to miss out all together.

I really believe that the theme should be revealed right when the jam starts. I feel like brainstorming the map ought to be as much a part of the process as the actual building part. Otherwise, the thing itself might end up a little boring, if everyone's already planned out everything that they're going to do. Is there a way to customize the poll so that people can't view the results?
And yeah, for anyone who needs more time, Monday should definitely be allowed. I realize that not everyone may have the day off for Labor Day, but as Shaymin pretty much said, better to have a fully finished product a little bit late than something that's not at all finished or balanced or anything, but is on time.
That is basically what I think as well. What's probably going to happen is I will put up a poll for the Jam theme on the 30th (friday) people will vote, and then building will start friday at midnight (eastern time (USA)) I feel that while this will give a little extra brainstorming time it is a worthwhile trade-off for a community decided theme.
