Edit: The text is much harder to make out in this screenshot because it is meant to be seen from lower. I am at a spot that the player would never be in this screenshot. I just wanted to show the entire spawn in one picture.
I like that quite a lot, I suppose it gives players a feeling of sudden intimidation as they open the map. I don't know how I feel about the mustache though.... You could maybe try adding different coloured text to different letters or different words (such as the #01 and the moustache)
How do you like the design of the castle on the left? The shape is probably too rectangular. The right one, I first made bunch boxes as you can see and then add the walls, but they does't fit the shape and break it unfortunately, coz I'm stupid. Would it be better if I done the design little more simple? There will be a few windows as well. Tell me your thoughts, please.
That looks fairly good. I wouldn't bother making it more simple as that would probably make it look more dull. I'd say add different shapes and such to the corners or the top of the castle - something like that would make it more complete.
I'm making a mini map for a mapmaking event, it is the spanish equivalent to the Strawberry Jam, but not as famous. The name I have chosen for the map is Vermillion, it doesn't mean anything in the actual map, just sounds cool for me (Like in Valkyria Skylands). Here are a couple of spoilers from the areas that are completed.
Thats cool, minecraft forums got a facelift on mobile
I have some screenshots to share... Just dont feel like getting out of bed to share them, ill post them tomorrow.
I stick around this cult-ish game for Vinyl Fantasy 3, and doin some sweet map-a-makin!
Also i have a blatantly honest confession to make... Vechs is somewhat bland with his mapmaking, However... I really only like Vechs' maps, in fact, i didn't find any reason to continue Sim Pro 2 or Ragecraft 2 past the first few areas.
Both of those were unbelievably beautiful and well balanced maps. Even after saying that, i dug myself in a deep hole for saying i dont enjoy much maps...
I've really thought a lot about it though, "what is it about Vechs' maps that i love so dearly, as opposed to other ctm maps?"
Going through and playing Ragecraft 2. 1st time through I quit at the nexus... I'm a noob for not finding where to go. I figured since so many people have put this somewhere on their 7 wonders of CTM posts, I might as well play it again. I'm still at the Last Sanctuary with 5 deaths so far; just shows you how many torches this area will eventually take... and how long it will too. Everybody wish me luck, I'm a bad CTM player and so... this will take me a while, with a lot of deaths and pain. Into the graveyards I go...

@7 Wonders Community Question:
I've been thinking a bit and this is what I've come up with...
1. Legendary - set the precedent for what CTM maps are capable of and how a mapmaker can incorporate a bunch of environments into one map
2. Ragecraft II - set the bar for CTM maps which (in my opinion) hasn't been beaten yet (though RCIII sounds like it will)
3. Pantheon - a project put together by a huge group of mapmakers, even though it wasn't the most balanced, it showed that a project like that is possible
4. Vinyl Fantasy II - created a hard/good looking/open-world/linear-branching map all in one
5. Uncharted Territory III - don't really think this changed anything, but a see Super Hostile, Vinyl Fantasy, and Uncharted Territory as the "Big Three"
6. Simulation Protocol 01: Animosity - even though I prefer the second map in the series, this map proved that a map by a new mapmaker could gain enough popularity to be played by big channels like Team Canada
7. Terra Restore - showed what command blocks can do to make a CTM map that is both an adventure map and a CTM all in one
EDIT: Page get and I'm not hiding it in any bold letters!
What is an underrated CTM map (i.e not mentioned often) that you feel is amazing.
I can't speak for everyone, but personally I think every amazing map is addressed to the CTM Community and they are then given a lot of praise for the map. But this question you asked has also made me curious if there's any underrated maps.

(ok first off i hate the quote system on this forum)
Now as to your question: While neither was underrated at the time of its release, it seems like both Rugged Horizons and To Greener Pastures are overlooked today. I'm not entirely sure if you can even download them now, as i think both use fileswap links, all of which no longer work. Still if you ever find either of them they are well worth your time!

I agree with BNM, Aima Caves is a great map that isn't talked about much. Also Remote District 3.There was a decent amount of hype around for its release but it kinda all went away when the map released for no real reason.
Question about 1.9 snapshots, with the attack speed atribute, can you set it to mobs too? Does it affect them?

The 7 Wonders of CTM In No Particular Order:
1. Kaizo Caverns (first CTM ever)
2. The Painter (Not revolutionary, but a great map and really well put together and original.)
3. Ragecraft 2 (It's Ragecraft 2. Deal with it.)
4. Pantheon (Huge, hardest map out there possibly)
5. Vinyl Fantasy 2
6. Savage Realm (Huge amount of custom stuff, etc.)
7. From Ashes (ruined-city, open-world type thing)
I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.

1. Legendary - A legend among maps, this is the one that made ctm popular (most lps)
2. Emerald Dream 3 by Orange 1095 - Pioneered a lot of the modern command block stuff
3. Ragecraft II - Took what ragecraft 1 was and made it balanced and fun for most people
4. Moon II - took ctm to a new, massive scale
5. from ashes - one of the first very successful open world maps not by vechs
6. Vinyl Fantasy 1 - Introduced art into ctm, made aesthetics something of more importance
7. Pantheon
skyward ascent for honorable mentions
Sorry, I haven't played many recent maps, but I'm sure there are many that I would have put on this list (SP, savage realms)

It's not actually that color, but oh man would that be cool!
Haven't really built the main part of this area, so all I have to show is this beginning part, kinda hard to tell what's going on :/
Super fun to play test, even though there's lots to do, I LOVE messing around in the overhangs.

Overhangs are the sheet, love 'em.

O_O, I love it, It is unique, I don't have seen nothing like this before.
Use that colors
#latetotheparty
1. Legendary - one of the first really epic scale CTMs, has a special place in my heart
2. Vinyl Fantasy II - introduced a new aesthetic standard (so did VFI, but VFII was more fun)
3. Spellbound Caves - created the template for most maps to this day to follow
4. Corrupt Lands 2: Floating Memories - not a very well known map, but I love it for the simple but impressive aesthetics and classic CTM gameplay
5. Moon II - definitely one of the best maps out there to this day
6. Emerald Dream 3 - to this day one of the only maps to use command blocks well, also introduced a lot of revolutionary mechanics
7. Skyward Ascent - introduced block variation (ugh) and made some of the best use of lore I've seen in a CTM
