Just figured I would post here that the first Terra Restore 2 alpha is now out! It's a very unique CTM/adventure hybrid map that uses a bunch of command block magic. Right now it contains the first 4/16 areas but the areas are quite complete and I plan on doing "save files" for future alphas so you can choose to kick off where you left off.
Length: Roughly 4-6 hours of gameplay currently, 4/16 wools added Difficulty: Easy mostly for the first part of the map but gets progressively more challenging Players: 1-4 players (1-2 recommended)
Boss fights and events - Each dungeon either ends in a boss fight or an event. The boss fights contain powerful monsters that have extra abilities controlled by redstone, have health bars, multiple difficulties, are not easily abused/cheesed, and more. Events throw an objective at you that you must complete such as defend a villager or survive 3 minutes. Bosses and events set you into adventure mode and also fully reset on death. They also scale slightly with the amount of players present.
Restoration - You will receive a terra restore (wool block) at the end of each dungeon. On placing terra restores on the monument you will slowly start to restore the land around the area and bring it back to life. NPCs will start to pop up and you can generally find some nice loot and useful things in the restorations.
Challenges - Roughly mid way through each dungeon there will be a challenge area which contains a chest with pretty decent loot at the very end of it. Getting to the chest is the hard part though as the challenge could contain parkour, puzzles, time elements, waves of monsters that you have to get past and such. Much like bosses/events, challenges set you into adventure mode.
Music - Every area in the map has a song attached to it and so do the bosses. The music repeats and will help you immerse yourself in the map.
Story - Fantasy setting with character development and cut scenes. Prequel to Terra Restore 1 and the setting involves the 3 groups - humans, monsters, and animals trying to strive for equality and peace even though they are very different from each other. Some groups of monsters don't agree with it so there is some conflict in various places around the world of Nira.
Essence currency system - Each monster you kill gives you essence. Essence can be used to purchase upgrades for your base, buy items from shops, and more! You lose some essence on death.
Base upgrades - You can upgrade your base with a disco dance floor, enchantment tower, kitchen, and more! Each of which has it's own practical use.
Towns - Intersections now also have towns in them which will often contain NPCs, minigames, inns, shops, and the likes. Monsters don't spawn while in such areas so they are pretty safe!
Horses - To help you travel through out the overworld you get access to some horses which are also upgradable.
Overworld - Connects all the towns and areas together.
Keep Inventory - You don't lose your gear on death.
Rare gear - Gear is a lot harder to find which makes exploring way more worth it.
Uniqueness - This CTM map is very unique in comparison to the other CTM maps out there and I strive to make it high-quality.
Fun factor - Definitely a lot of fun on multiplayer and will have you wondering what is next.

Played the first one Mithey and I really enjoyed the functionality of restoring a certain area! I found the entire "restoration" hub confusing at first though, but I have no idea of how you could improve it
Oh, and if you guys don't remember me, I think I'm coming back to the CTM community

P1: "Hey dude, lets go on to the next dungeon!"
P2: "Hold on I need to AFK here!"
P1: "Alright!" *Completes dungeon without P2*
P1: "Alright let's restore some land!" *places block on monument*
P2: "I'm back wait I'm suffocating in dir- never mind I am dead now..."
If you guys haven't checked it out yet, check out the Alpha of Terra Restore 2. When it is done, it'll probably be the best adventure map out there, overall. Maybe RC3 has fancier aesthetics and could be a great CTM map, it's survival, not complete adventure. However, TR2 is just beautiful and amazing and perfect.

I agree! I've finished the orange wool section and am enjoying the story a LOT. Aesthetics could be better but it isn't enough to outweigh how well the quests and chapters work. It's fantastic so far
What do you think of this area? Obviously it is a work in progress, I still have to complete the full illumination proccess, make a lava lake, fill and add structures. It's not that big, I may make a teleportation transport system to make it a little bigger.
The name for now is "Volatile Overcharge", subject to change. The thematic is an energy complex that has overloaded, and its lava containers (simulating the physic look of energy) have exploded.
WIP Screenies:
EDIT: Gage pet
Looks really good but I agree with Fang about the floor.

I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.

Does it look better than the first one though? I had trouble playing the first one just because I couldn't stand what I was looking at for most of the map :/
I am seriously considering using witty's raw food poisoning system, but I'll probably inflict a low level of hunger and weakness instead of poison- just a brief nudge to cook, whilst keeping raw food as a reasonably viable way to heal in a pinch.
I I will have to experiment on using the stat detection for weapons- could make custom rare items rather more cool.
Also, particles are so fun to apply to mobs:)
A random fish has appeared out from hiding. Had lots of exciting events over the past few weeks, including a wedding and a choir concert. Haven't gotten pretty much anything done on my full map (Darn you Hearthstone. Can't get enough of you.) It is totally fine to use it, in fact, I completely encourage you to modify and have fun with the system itself.
Currently, I have plans right now, and I hope to get working on my map soon enough, since things around where I live are settling down. I currently have set a hopeful, yet EXTREMELY tentative, goal of completing my CTM map by the end of the summer. No guarantees on this by any means.
Right now, however, I am working out some IRL things, mostly including a headache that has been going on for just about a month with no let up. Most likely going to see a neurologist.

Just finished playing it. This one definitely looks way better than the first one. It's not your usual, traditional CTM though. I would say the consistency of the map is 65%adventure,35%CTM though... But it is very worth playing and a lot of fun IMO

The first area is half done! I think i'll call it "The Pedestal of Beginning"
All suggestions are welcome!
I really like the natural lighting that ends in a spiral. Perhaps the slab blocks could be replaced by stone bricks here and there. You don't have to get rid of them, just add some blocks to the mix. The island itself is cool, but I'm thinking (and this is a weird idea here) but I'm thinking that perhaps HALF of the island could be "eroded", like podzol, coarse dirt, and the other half all green and fancy. it's an idea
EDIT: by 'eroded', i don't mean the MCedit function
The Block variation meme is one of my favorites.
On another note, I'm currently working on a first area in my map, "Maze for Rats" (please help me find a better name).
I want the map to have a "factory" or 'Labaratory" feeling, kinda like the portal games. How can i do that without over-using straight lines?
Alright, so personally I am done with the area, unless someone has a major suggestion I am going to move on to my starting area.
I like it.

will do hope it looks better
Black ops 3 Guns
Black ops 3 III Perks
Yeah, they look good, but the obsidian could leave. It doesn't look natural (but do as you wish- i'm no expert)

I practised making some naturally looking mountains for the first time. Did I succeed?
(It's not full size, in the map the mountains will be around 100-150 metres high and these are around 40)
practiced*
and what noise did you use for the brush?
I think they look very good
