I just remembered to do this: I just completed "Into the Storm"! My CTM map!
I guess I was a bit late with posting this, considering it entered open beta a week or two ago. Anyway, yet another announcement. I'm nearly done with Hikaro Jungle, my SECOND CTM map! I expect the now traditional message from someone proving my justice to this community. The thread is very messy, I still haven't gotten the hang of the forums yet, but here it is!http://www.minecraft...y-messy-thread/
Hello I'm a player and I hate you because I can only bridge or run through lava.
Well... I have only just started the area and it is not necessary that you go down there... And I want the player to feel pain and die millions of times.
Blitz was boring me (too small scale) so I thought I would make a sequel to my first map Storm the Castles. I know STC didn't turn out so hot, but now I think I've somewhat grasped CTM mapmaking and have an idea of how to make things aesthetically pleasing.
So yea feedback pl0x, and should I have more colorful variations in the background (atm it's just stone/andesite/gravel) or keep it that way to have subtle variation without taking attention away from focus points?
Here's the lower story interior of big thingy (Intersection Hub)
You can click on mah signature for first map thread which has all screenshots and goals for the sequel at end of first post.

AWESOME!!! Yeah Blitz is way too small scale. I loved Storm the Castles and since you have improved at mapmaking quite a bit, I have a feeling this is going to be a great map!!! HYYYYYYPPPPPEEEEEE!!!!
Nice. I have played the first Storm the Castle. Had some trouble with the last wool. From what I remember some of the areas were too big with not enough focus points. check out Vech's waking up to see how massive areas are worth to explore. Most don't go for the bonus monument. Now if it was a required second monument you will be able to encourage more exploration. Nice mobs in the first one,

I think you should have a more subtle variation, because it won't distract the player from the main castle action.
Awesome! The first screenshot reminds me of super mario 64 (or somethin). And the 2nd screenshot is really nice too.
Also the walls could use some color in the first one. also i would be changing the diamond blocks on the beacon as well ;D

The walls in the first screenshot are a bit... noisy. Other than that, it looks great!

Anyway I started working on a new area for my map a few days ago. Here is a screeny.

You could try the "HTML to BBCode Converter".

And I end up getting a "Page Get".
Oh wow, there's an easier way to do that?
When my thread went to code I fixed it manually! Wow!

Well done.
My favorite part is the main building in the 1st screenshot. I just like how it displays. Again, well done.
