Yea it's intersection 1, and I'm pretty much finished with the areas branching from it. I want to work more on intersection 2 but the snapshot keeps crashing because of a falling sand entity mob spawner... So for now I'm just polishing intersection 1 areas. If it's still crashing in future snapshots I could try remaking the custom mob causing the issue.
That's kind of exactly what I'm talking about with spectacle creep though.
I mean, your intersection isn't bad, but did you feel like you NEEDED to make it that big?
Spectacle creep works a little bit different. It's not that you aren't allowed to make stuff bigger, it's about making stuff bigger just since there's no other way to improve. Legendary was huge, but didn't contain much spectacle creep. The areas were just big so there was a ton to explore. Spectacle creep kicks in in areas like lush ruins. They are made to be just "huge", with the intention of just making people happy by increasing the size all day, while not spending much time planning out the path(s) the player might take. Ragecraft had some issues with this too for as far as I played the map. Adding hidden loot doesn't really remove the point of spectacle creep. You'd be better of by adding something that's interesting to go see, like a building to explore, or even a trap. Especially in the newer maps, loot hasn't really been a thing and nobody cares about walking to every chest...
tldr, don't be lazy when you design big areas.

Good news everybody! My map, Srion: Desolate Riches, is technically done! BUT there's a snapshot bug that is messing up a feature in my map. So now I am weighing my options. Re-create the feature in a different way, remove the feature, wait for a bug fix, release the map as a beta test with full release later, etc.
So the only reason i didn't get this to my beta testers yet is because of that (also, if you want to beta test just ask ). I'm kinda bummed but oh well, that's what I get for building on a snapshot

Here's a peek at a mini dungeon, hidden from sight within an intersection in my upcoming map
It's called Rotting Mire (feat. witches, cavespiders, nasty stuff...) It's not a wool area, but something cool is stashed within its spiraling tunnels...

Speaking of Blitz... I remember on the video I was really interested in the area called Flame Wave. I remember I was really interested in the mechanics of the area. Maybe you could give me a tiny sneak peak on that area? Just tell me a bit about the area. Pwwweeeezzz. It just sounded cool. Also I get excited when I hear the word "falling sand entity". I have done some evil things with falling sand entities. Anyway hope you get that crash fixed. Good luck on Blitz:)

ooooohhhh! Those screenshots look sweet! Good luck! Although the only thing I would not do is be sure on a release date. You might feel like you have to rush through the areas in order to get it done in a 3 month period. If I were you I would just release the map when ever its ready. Good luck!
