I have sort of a question guys...What really...happened to CTM???
I remember the times when Minecraft CTM maps were the bomb, back when Spellbound Caves first came out it was the best CTM map ever, and still stands ground. Now...No offense guys, but I haven't seen may memorable CTM maps. If anyone would bother...could you tell me some REALLY good CTM maps?? I mean, not those maps that are pretty good, I'm talking about maps comparable to Spellbound Caves, Uncharted Territory 3, and Vinyl Fantasy II, you know, the great maps, the ones that make you go 'wow'. I rarely see those anymore....
I would really love to play some quality maps...tell me some of the names of the memorable ones.

Wanna try my minimap? It's only mini in name, has 5 objectives, is super detailed, and has a solid 1-5 hours of content! It can be found through my signature, as I just released it on the 1st...
I do also agree with Ragirk, for long-term. Ragecraft 2 seems incredibly well designed, but is *very* long.
Strength just changes the attack damage attribute, the only difference between giving the mob strength vs giving it a sword is that the sword is an addition calculation and the strength is a multiplier. Since the iron golem's attack doesn't rely on its attack damage attribute, strength shouldn't do anything (it's the thing I haven't tested because I'm almost certain it wouldn't alter the attack).
It doesn't work. I gave that golem a knockback 3 fire aspect 3 sword and he doesn't use it. Also when you get killed it just says "player got killed by corrupted golem" not "player got killed by corrupted golem using corrupted golem arm". I think this is just something with certain mobs that their normal attack isn't dependant on attributes and if they're holding something. For golems it probably has to do something with the way they're coded to attack, since their AI is pretty unique like villagers. Armor works on them and probably on any mob, but it doesn't display of course.

I have made a great discovery! I actually found this out about 2 months ago while doing some testing, and this is something I think I'm the first to realise:
Negative enchantment values! For most enchantments (protection types, infinity, fire aspect) if given a negative value it acts as if the enchantment doesn't exist or as if it's a positive value. For sharpness, smite, and bane of arthropods if given a negative value it does less damage, which can turn into amazing things. Here I have a sword that usually 2-shots undead, but it does about 3 or less damage to living mobs. Also I have an item called "Broken diamond sword" which is a diamond sword with about 1000 durability and sharpness -1. This will probably be the main use of this, as most enchantments negative values are ineffective (don't apply negative fortune!). You can do this by using MCedits enchant filter and turning it into a negative value. Only downside is it displays in a slightly glitchy manner (like potions with effects that are level 5 and up). After doing some more testing to remember some stuff I'll repost here saying things about other enchants.

Okay so after some testing really it seems that negative sharpness/smite/bane of arthropods (why do we have this enchant? There's only 3 arthropods in the game, and they're uncommon and weak anyway!). Still this is a discovery that will hopefully help CTM mapmakers in the future,as some very interesting weapons can be made of this. For example: An iron hoe called "The scythe of Death" that has sharpness 10 but smite -10 so it's decently effective and has infinite durability, but it can only hurt living mobs (I will probably make this be a drop of a future boss of mine).
Many of the areas shown have been revealed before, but since some of them have literally been more than six months ago, I figured this would be the best way to compile all those areas (and a few new ones) into a single two-minute video. Enjoy!
Try Ragecraft II - Insomnia. It's the best CTM I've ever played, and that stands for several of us. It's amazing.
No, it's too balanced. This ties in pretty well to something I've seen a lot of in the community recently:
TOO MUCH BALANCE IS JUST AS BAD AS NOT ENOUGH
Seriously, you can't have a nice, even balance curve. It's boring. You need to have ups and downs- like Star Wars. It's not just a constant climb up, action-wise. It's up and down.
Anyway, the good ol' EC team explains this much better than I ever could:

I really like this idea! Keep up the good Minecraft science work!

That's really amazing. You could have a diamond sword in the beginning of the map with negative sharpness and smite and a really high bane if you wanted. You could have a diamond sword that is basically a wooden with more durability. Or a useless trolly sword.

I actually picked up RC2 yesterday, and loved the starting area... To an extent, but as soon as I got outside it, quickly found myself bored... After how good the start was, Little Empire felt like a disaster - and directional cues for wool locations seem terrible so far, which bothers me. The map is gorgeous, but I'm worried about how there can be a difficulty curve if its already spawn spam...
I've been thinking about doing some kind of "boss battles" kind of map... I've already made a CTM map with all fleecy mobs but due to lack of experience in aesthetics and loot balance it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped as a whole, so I'd like to try to cut out parts of mapmaking I'm weak at and focus on my favorite part of a map (making bosses). For this boss map the areas would basically be "arenas" you teleport to via a button, which could also be used to summon the boss. The bosses would probably have some kind of crazy complicated phase-based fight mechanic using delayed spawners and spawner falling sand entity spawners in minecarts (read that part slowly) to make what would hopefully turn into unique and hectic gameplay. As for the equipment, I would probably just hand out what the player would need for the fight before the start (which allows for customized weapons and armor for a specific boss).
It could turn into a CTM map if there were fleecy mobs somewhere stacked within the bosses or something... but really all I would be focusing on would be the intensity and difficulty of some hilariously whacked-out custom mobs. Let me know if anyone else has done something like this, or at least tried to make a large-scale Minecraft boss out of custom mobs and spawner spawners.
I don't know if I agree about this, but when I was testing around with the Knockback Resistance attribute, it felt like there was a chance to fully resist average knockback (2 Blocks). Like for example, an item that offers 0.25 knockback resistance would be a 25% chance to resist. I could test this out to see if my statement is true. But I just wanted to point that out.

Little Empire is good, but I got lost as well. And how is it spawn spam? I thought in some places, spiders were a little overused, but I guess it's just you. All of us love it, so...
