What is your general hotbar layout? I know this has been asked numerous times in Vechs' thread, and maybe once or twice here, but it's always fun to share again.

3.pick
4.bow

Mine is:
1. Sword/Primary Weapon
2. Bow
3. Pick
4. Food
5. Blocks
6. Potion (Regen/Health)
7. Potion (Something special like speed, energy drink, etc.)
8. Ender pearl(s)
9. Torches (Easy to switch between sword and torches)
I have answered this multiple times, but I might as well post my hotbar again.

Late to the party, I know, but congrats everyone on 500 pages and 10000 posts. Now I'm going to go cry in a corner. Am I really that much of a lurker?
Anyway, hotbar layout really varies for me, depending on what I feel like most at the time. I always have a bow, sword, torches, blocks, a potion or two, and ender pearls on my bar (when they're available). I prefer to not have food on my bar, because the way I see it, if you're eating food, it's probably because you need to regen health naturally, in which case you're probably cryboxing (assuming you're in a dungeon). Switching in food briefly, eating, and switching it back out takes up more time than just eating, but you should never really need to eat in an emergency (unless you're eating, say, a golden apple, which I would qualify as a "potion").

I was wondering who here would like to see a tutorial on how to make a uncheatable monument that can light up a redstone lamp, spit out whatever text you want and dispense an item upon putting the monument item in? I just made one for my latest mapping venture and would be happy to post up a video of how to make one if anyone was interested!
Hello fellow CTM community!
I just wanted some feedback on these screenshots of this map I'm making (still haven't decided on a name).
Currently have constructed White, orange and magenta wools.

Too obvious brushs strokes. Do some eroding. Thank you very much!

Honestly, they look a bit boring. Needs erosion and some block variation, as well as more eye-catching structures.

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.

I find my mouse wheel is too imprecise for accurate slot switching. In the end I edited my resource pack to have numbers on the hotbar, which helps a lot and makes switching items without looking at the keyboard really easy.
Too obvious brushs strokes. Do some eroding. Thank you very much!
Ifeel a problem with the community nowadays is the fact that apparently just going "erosion, block variation" is acceptable. What blocks? Where to erode? It's not exactly obvious to a new mapmaker who aspires to be the next vak pls. If you're so intelligent, why not explain what the hell you mean so they can actually do something about it? It's a horrible habit to get in to, and you need to sift through the obvious things to find the hidden gems of the comment. It's not boldly in front of you what you need to do, new mapmakers, don't listen to the rehashed comments of the regulars, where if you listen you lost already, keep doing your own thing to change the game.

You could try something with Bud switches, but you would need bedrock everywhere. It would probably just look really ugly with the bedrock.

I too also randomly bold various parts of my sentence.
I thought of another way to make an uncheatable monument. This should work 100%. The monument has to be somewhere where it can only be accessed through teleporters. When a person tp's there, it will switch their game mode to adventure. There will also have to a teleporters back to intersections or something where their game mode would be switched back to survival. This method has limitations though. The player won't really be able to customize or build anything in the monument area. The monument would probably have to be chests connected to hoppers and that stuff. It has its limitations that probably make this idea terrible, but it is uncheatable.
Why do you want an uncheatable monument? NOT TRUSTING THE PLAYERS???
I'm pretty sure this won't be of huge use to mapmakers, unless the new biome comes with new mobs for that biome, or new biome colors, but I just thought it was cool.
So I did some testing about using BUD switches with the monument, and it's probably better then the adventure mode thing. The monument is twice as big though so no red stone conflicts with each other.

The pickaxe, sword, bow and lighting positions have been embedded in my brain, BTW. I know when to instantly tap the appropriate key to equip them.
