Also I have probably found the next map of the month.
I totally support that as map of the month assuming other people like it, it looks really cool. I will certainly try it out too, even though I am trash at elytra flying.

I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
If you guys need some inspirations for structures in your map, I would suggest watching the movie The Fall (2006), which have one of the most astonishing visuals in a movie I have ever seen. And it also showcased some interesting architectural (and some natural) wonders around the world.
I have spent the morning today searching the depths of this thread for more reviews. There are so many that were never added. I've added many new maps including: Mystic Realms: Safe Haven, Vinyl Fantasy I, Hikaro Jungle, Remote District III, Storm the Castles, Desolate Dreamscape and others. I've added several new reviews to existing maps.
However there are still so many reviews that were never added (even old ones (today I added a review from 2013).
Also looks like the map of the month section has been working out quite nicely. What do you think about a Letsplay Hightlight section? It will work on monthly basis as well and it will feature either single map series on youtube, or actuall youtube or twitch channels that make regular CTM content.

LP highlight sounds like a great idea!

Getting back into terraforming is really fun, I forgot how much I loved making custom trees.
Also, welcome to the hilariously unfinished "Brimstone Quarry"
The little space ship thing will eventually be a mining drill.

There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.
Hey all. So, once again the Aurabolt has rallied himself for pain, and is waiting to start his stream to adventure once more. What new lands will he visit? What new threats will Aurabolt kick in the teeth with any new weapons he finds? Will he derp, or will he subvert....your expectations? Find out today!

Maybe a bit too , um... Odd , but check out The Holy Mountain ! It has some really cool set pieces , and is a hella cool movie. Same with El Topo. (Made by the same Dude , Aleandro Jowdrowsky.)
What is more important in the CTM map: design and story or gameplay and difficulty?
Asking this because I've seen many CTM's that are focused on design more then on gameplay (not that it's bad), and I wanted to start on my own CTM map for the last two years or so.

Basicly CTM is have already unique in gameplay and difficulty. But anyway I really like the design in CTM maps, cause you can enjoy eternally of that aestehthics. Story for me, I don't really cares about that. Gameplay - I like that when good design. Difficuly thats should be ofc hard.
Anyway the masterpiece of that all 4 things is Ragecraft: The really amazing design, very cool stories, very cool gamplays (In one area you explorer, in another you ninja, etc) and also not easy difficulty.

Both.
But creating good looking aesthetics is much easier than thinking of new gameplay mechanics and balancing. So I guess there's that..

@CQ: My indev map is exactly that, if the player really really wants to tackle the harder areas they can but its not advised.

Or if you don't have time to watch the movie, here's all the location used in the movie and you can research some of the locations yourself

I love this! The trees are cool, unique, and the land around them looks pretty interesting too! Don't ever remember seeing a quartz tree
As for the quarry: looks neat (I'm really curious about what those blocks up high are).
I'm guessing the lower walls are the WIP part, so I won't say anything, but the spaceship thingamajig looks cool.

after extremly colorful Savage Realm areas this looks kinda bland... :\
but I actually like this style lol.
lol @Krose looks like one of my areas
Also the movie Samsara Is perfect for inspiration.
@krose: I like the color scheme, I wouldn't worry about making it too colorful.
One shot from the movie:
I would instantly love anyone who make this as an area in his/her map.

I've got three new teaser pictures from Discordancy to show off - which will be hopefully entering the Open Beta in the first week of April!
Yes I know you've seen other pics of the last two but they're so good looking ;_;
